Loving the easter eggs this new McLaren has, from the Kiwi bird button for those custom settings harkening back to Bruce McLaren's New Zealand roots, and the display selector dial with the stylized silhouette of McLaren's HQ in England. And seeing it now, it looks as if the 750S's rear wing looks like one huge stylized Kiwi bird, again a visual shout-out to Bruce McLaren's homeland. As for the car itself, I think that despite the styling being old and all, one cannot deny the fact that the original version of this (the 720S) and the newly updated variant straight RIPS.

@@keely2014 BLUF: Above average build quality. Nothing out of the ordinary for a supercar. The 720 was my 4th supercar. Once you get into the supercar territory, you lose a lot of sound deadening, so you hear a lot more of the things going on in the car, especially with all the additional aero channels. That's kind of the point, but some people don't like it. Build quality is very good. Better than I've seen from most normal production cars, and I've owned ~25 vehicles across just about every major international brand. Tolerances seem tighter, even on the non-performance related items. Panels are separated evenly throughout the car and aligned well. Bear in mind, my car is a 2018, so 7 years old and driven hard (at least by the previous owner and myself). You're bound to start seeing some mis-alignments. However, McLarens always have... McLaren things. The electronics and sensors do a lot of weird stuff, false positives on system faults (which I'd rather have than false negatives, to be sure). My 650s had some weird things, and this 720s has some weird things. I will also point out my 720 is modified (exhaust, fuel system, tune), so there are a bunch of other downstream things with that.

Doug : "the 720s came out 6 years ago" Same Doug later in video "the 720s when it came out 5 years ago" The reality: 720s 2017 (so technically 2016) 8 years ago....

I'm so happy that they didn't completely shitcan the 720S (I say as if I can afford one now), because I really think they made a keeper with it. I want to see them continue this for as long as possible.

I totally agree with the lack of image that this brand has. It’s not a car enthousiast manufacturer, I look at this, it’s ok, it’s performant, fast… but it does not make me dream of it. I prefer a good old 911

always thought the interiors of most modern supercars are lacking, for the price you pay you'd expect a little more

Any one find it funny that his car only has Apple Car play, but one of Mclaren F1's primary sponsors is Google Chrome? 🤣🤣

Haha, that's pretty funny! Guess they know people who are fine dumping money on disposable apple products will be buying this car.

I really wish he’d review newer, exciting Mercedes. He didn’t review the new e class, hasn’t reviewed the new amg gt and although I’m sure it would’ve been pretty hard, seeing him reviewing the amg one would’ve been a real treat instead we got not just a video but two more videos on the a class.

The Kiwi logo on the button. It is actually not just to appreciate Bruce McLaren heritage. That Logo is the actual 'Speedy Kiwi' logo used by the racing team McLaren for many years

But I agree. It also doesn’t deliver the same “fizz” (thanks James May) in terms of appearance and driver experience as other driver cars

The extra storage shouldn't be a surprise McLaren's first car had tons of extra storage hidden all over the car

Doug’s looking a little lazy sitting in that chair? He needs to scoot around on a stool with wheels, definitely suit the show and he’s quirky character better. 👍🏻. Oh never mind the chairs got wheels 😂

I think saying a brand isn't for enthusiasts because it hasn't been around for 100 years is dumb. Maybe they aren't collector items like some Ferraris, but Mclarens are generally driven, not parked as garage queens. I think that makes them more of the enthusiast car if you ask me
