Excellent review, need to add this to book wish list. It's a bit different being about table top games rather than regular consoles or handheld systems.

Thank you for the feedback. You're right, there's been books covering all types. Table top games, check. Gaming consoles, check. Handheld games, check. Waiting for a 1/6th scale gaming arcade book 😄

Thanks for stopping by! Funny that I was just watching your latest video on the Long Island Retro Gaming Expo. I wasn't there but wow, I think I just saved myself a lot of money by not being there haha. Great job! kzitem.info/news/bejne/xZV70JmAq6qQaagsi=wW40sGfIIrq8hf9K

As a collector of vintage handhelds it was a matter of time till I ordered this book. Watching your review made me pull the trigger. Watching your reviews makes me buy what what I see lol. It's a compliment to you sir I really enjoy how you present your content especially on the vintage handheld and tabletop items. Well done. PS : please keep the reviews coming on the handhelds. I love them.

Thank you so much! That put a smile on my face 🙂. My main goal for this channel was to see if I could generate a memory from one's past but if it also inspired one to purchase the item then that was a major bonus. I really appreciate the support. Thanks!

Sunday 27th October 2024, RMC - The Cave hands-on computer museum in Chalford, Gloucestershire, Mike Diver will be there talking about his book and the games. A lot of the games featured in the book can already be played on at The Cave because I lent them to the museum 2 years ago. I'm also going along that day and will be bringing along over 100 more electronic tabletop / handheld games for people to see, including more than 40 wrist watch games and some even built into ballpoint pens.

Excellent info! I'll be checking RMC - The Cave channel for a video on Mike's visit. And wow, that's an awesome contribution you've made for people to see and appreciate our past love for handhelds and tabletops. I'm really curious about the ballpoint pen games. Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! The book looks nice! I wish I still had all of my old hand helds. I think I played Mattel's Battlestar Galactica the most. So many times in fact, my Dad had to solder in a new 9v battery connector and also replace the 3 position slide switch! I have been collecting all of the New Wave Toys Replicades. I have every single one from Centipede to Berzerk/Frenzy. I'm also collecting the Numskull Quarter Arcades, but haven't gone past Space Invaders yet since the prices really went up on those.

Thanks for the great feedback! What a great memory with your Battlestar Galactica. When I made the video on that one, I was surprised how much interest it had immediately. I never owned it as a child but now I see why it's a classic. You've got a great mini collection going there, wow! It's nice that it doesn't take up a lot of space to display although it does free up space in one's wallet, lol.

@@VintageGamingMemories - Unfortunately, I don't have all of my mini arcades out on display (yet!). I just purchased a couple Ikea Billy bookshelves. Once I move some things around in the gameroom, I will be putting them all up. I don't know if I will do dioramas like most of the community is doing. I will probably just place them side by side in order of release from New Wave Toys.

@@SpamMusubi310 A diorama makes me feel like it's too permanent because of how intricate it would be with all the details and not easy to move around. I like your idea of lining them up. Love to see a pic if/when you have a chance 🙂

@@thedeadpoolwhochuckles.6852 Thinking back to the beginning of the pandemic with the panic buying of TP, the situation would have been valid for either one, lol.
