It's tough, because it depends on if you need them to play now or not. I'd rank Drake Maye and McCarthy higher for teams that are willing to sit them, but lower for teams that require their QB draft pick to play right away. 1) Caleb Williams - Needs to play on script more, get the ball out on time, avoid negative plays (sacks/fumbles) 2) Jayden Daniels - High upside as long as durability is there at the pro level. If not, he could be the next RG3 repeat where he fizzles out quickly. 3) Bo Nix - All purpose traits, skill, production. Extremely good at limiting bad plays, playing point guard, solid build, toughness, gamer. Can make throws to all levels. Tendency to throw some Donavan McNabb styled balls at the receivers/backs feet on shorter throws where a better ball would make for more YAC/easier completions. Needs to use his legs more consistently when he passes, gets a bit stiff and upper-body torque's a lot of throws with his strength. 4) Michael Penix Jr. - Best deep ball thrower in the draft. Bombs away with this guy. I rank him lower as I think he's more scheme depending then Nix and the injury concerns. I would have loved him for the Vikings. 5) Drake Maye - Talent galore, but inconsistent accuracy. On pure upside he might be the highest ranked prototypical traits selection out of the top-6, but he needs the most development to achieve that level of success. I hope New England is very patient with him. He should get three years minimum to figure things out. 6) J.J. McCarthy - A good blend of upside, talent, collegiate achievement, youngest out of the group I believe. I think he needs time to develop. Little was asked of him. He didn't have to carry a team and is getting a pass by most analysts when he didn't have to carry a bad team, didn't have to carry the team when they're down by two scores often, didn't have to overcome playing with sub-par talent. Needs to develop touch throws, and better accuracy rather than air mailing some as we saw at the combine. He might have just had nerves and combine pass drills can often be thrown out the window as being somewhat meaningless, but CJ Stroud was a clinic out there the year prior and showed in his consistent accuracy during his rookie year. I'd expect McCarthy needs work on his throwing technique to feather balls more and be more accurate.

Lulz can’t wait to see clips from all these “experts”three years from now when Drake Maye is running the League and the rest of these guys are fighting for backup roles in Canada with the Tiger-Cats or Alouettes.

Maye is a what if, he is the 6th best QB now. These other guys can also improve a lot too lol. I really don’t understand how people have Maye ranked #2 lol.
