Thanks for taking the time to make such a thorough video. I'm a day hiker and it's always really interesting to see the gear that through hikers use. With the Garmin make sure you have insurance that covers the cost of rescue as I believe that can cost 50 or 60,000 dollars in some cases.

I have insurance, but SAR is free in some states including all that the PCT passes thru.

Great video. Very informative chap. I was wondering if the flex tail would last the entire hike. Can’t wait for your next adventure. Rest a little while you deserve it!

Loved your commentary throughout the hike. Watched em all. Liked the FCC industry language format….no swearing. Classes up the show. One question, how did you safely refill fuel canisters without a scale? What is your secret?

Thanks for joining in my journey! Hmm, I’m not sure how “safe” my refills were. Perhaps it was luck. I just did it by feel, someone else refilled several of our canisters one time and I thought it felt heavy when he handed it back to me. The first time I lit my stove the flame was LARGE for the first few seconds and then it was fine.

Super helpful and thanks for sharing. I followed you all the way except for when I was on my own little thru hike on the JMT so I’ll watch the rest. I compared my gear to yours and it is somewhat similar which makes me feel good compared to what you have done. I realized later I had too many little pack towel, buff and bandanas. Redundant. I carried EE booties, loved them, frog toggs UL rain because I could not decide or felt ok with an expensive purchase, so luckily never needed to put them to a real test, and ample, which I needed, Imodium because I am not so good with processed food. I did purchase and used a carbon fiber bear canister because after a shake down trip and Im sixty, realized that was prob needed to be successful. Really enjoyed watching your journey and look forward to whatever you do next.

Great overview.. I love that you hike your own hike with your own gear. As a self proclaimed "gram weenie" I wouldn't make the same choices, but I stoked you've found what works for you. Is the CDT coming up for you in 2025?

I may have missed it, did you carry the Patagonia Jogger Pants the entire time? And looking back would you change your pants on the PCT, or just go shorts and rain pants…thanks in advance.

How did you heat and chill fuel canisters for the flip? Did that system work well and how did you know how full the canister got?

Refrigerator and hot water when possible. Otherwise, cold water and the sun. Just filled by feel. Never had an issue.

Awesome video Lil'Chap! Thanks. I really appreciate it. You're really awesome you know that???? One question, the cinchy hoody, what brand is that, or is cinchy the brand? Congrats again on the successful completion of your PCT hike. You're a great guy! A wonderful example as well. I'm a massive dog lover myself. I was a dog mom to my son (dog) for 10 years before I had to put him down. Now I where a necklace with a picture of him on it and some of his ashes in it. I hope you're back home enjoying your dog again. - Shybee from Utah
