I think it is actually the other way around, the Italian bind off is essentially the kitchener stitch on one needle while the tubular creates the "tube" at the cast off edge with the double kitting. But they are used pretty interchangeably especially because so many patterns are translated to the English version. For example Petite knit patterns refer to the double knitting as "set-up rows" and the sewn bind off as the Italian bind off even though you do the double knitting.

I’m almost done with my Season’s Cardigan. It is my first cardigan and so far I’m loving it. I haven’t block it yet so hopefully it still fits nicely.

UGH! That's so sad about your season's sweater. I have that one on my list because I love the look of it. I'll have to read through Ravelry to see what other issues people have had with it. Thanks!

I enjoy your videos. I was reading some Ravelry comments on the Poppy Tee and Petite Knits called the construction a European Neck. I’ve never heard of it before. Italian Sewn Bind off does not have the set up row but tubular does. The set up rows creat a small section of double knitting that make a space between the front and back or “tube” before the bind off.

Another youtuber called it an English shoulder construction. I’d love to know what it’s really called. 🤓😃

@@stadknit I have found that many knitting terms have alternative names based on region so it could be both. The German Twisted cast on is also called the Old Norwegian cast on.

I also know it as 'the European shoulder' 😊

I love your Farnham Tee! It looks so cute! (And the bind offs are exactly the opposite of what you mentioned. 😄 Italian bind off is the sewn one, and tubular has set up rows that create the ‘tubular’ part before sewing off. I never bother with the set up rows either, they’re unnecessary in my opinion. 😁)

The Poppy tee, I think uses English Tailoring, it looks very similar to coco knits patterns and that's what she uses

I suggest that you give away the yarn. It seems like there could be an issue with the pattern. Perhaps a more simple pattern would be better.

I can’t believe I forgot to enter the giveaway!! Next time! I love how your Farnham tee turned out, and I’d love to see a comparison video on the two sweaters as well as a comparison video on the two different yarns you mentioned! I hope that you make the Book Club Cardigan so you can wear it in Ireland 😈

Yep, non-wool yarns tend to get shorter and wider in sweaters/tops. I have had this also happen with the same yarn you used.

You're so into yarn, you buy it in your sleep by now XD The dusty mauve suits you very well! And for the cardigan, it is so clear that you do not enjoy it, I'd really let it go and not trouble myself with it anymore. Maybe someone wants the yarn, like you said! Btw, I'm watching NoraKnits as well, her stripe hype is really coming along nicely!

Your Farnham Tee turned out beautiful and fits you perfectly. So glad you are happy with it. Your Poppy Tee has an interesting construction. Always fun to learn a new way to do things. I hope it turns out beautiful. Also glad you are happy with your spinning. Your first skeins look amazing. It will be so fun for you to be able to make something from yarn you have spun yourself.

your Farnham tee looks and fits spectacularly! well done you!! as for the Poppy tee, I am knitting the Maggie cardigan with a couple of friends and it is exactly same type of ¨join and pick stitches" construction, I was also very surprised like, what is this? never knitted anything like it, but as the increases are going, I think it is going to fit amazing!! Lovely episode!

Don’t know if I’m making things up or not but, I thought last year you got the Sewrella Fall tonals skeins to make the Stripe Hype Sweater specifically. Am I tripping and confusing it with something else or did that happen? Not judging tho! I just had that brain worm work its way in and now I can’t stop thinking about it.
