I was able to go to the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival last week and enjoy the festivities as well as hit some of the trails. In this video, I start out riding some of the Western Gateway Trails (Saddle, Stirrup, Gartner, Rupp, Axis) and then head across the street to the Carroll Canyon trails to hit up Herkenham and Old Post. All the trails are great riding although coming up Old Post was pretty technical and I did hike-a-bike some of the sections or sure. A rear flat slowed down my day a little bit but, I was able to do a trailside repair and get moving again. Definitely bring some tools with you as it would have sucked to walk back the four miles or so back to the festival or my Airbnb.
I only did two days at the Festival due to my schedule but, I would definitely say there's enough to do for the entire three days if that's your thing. There's plenty of great trails in the area whether or not the festival is going on but, the multiple group rides, events, vendors, and other mountain bikers certainly add another layer of fun to it rather than visiting by yourself. I didn't do a bike demo as I'm not really interested in another ride at the moment.
Unfortunately, my time in Sedona has come to an end and I have to head back to closed trails in Minnesota until we get over the Spring freeze/thaw cycle and get back on dirt! I might have to do a few review videos or take out the jumps for practice in the yard.
If you would, please hit that subscribe button and follow along but, most importantly, GET OUTSIDE! Thanks for watching!
