It hangs up for a moment just scrolling through info in this video lmao. How can a car screen in 2023 be this slow? A ten year old cellphone is more responsive
@luminaire7085
Жыл бұрын
Slow?? I think that procurement got the lowest bidder and oldest processor on the market and slapped it into these cars. Got an Outback Touring 2023 and it is painful. Infotainment has been flashed twice now. once because it went dark for hours a time till next day, now with a paired iphone if you go to a site that plays videos then the Infotainment just stops responding for a couple of minutes. Have you noticed the size of the icons when the apps are minimized in Carplay? you really have to take your eyes off the road to try to hit the proper app. My second subie and I regret it, besides that AWD just saved our lives this evening has I hit a patch of ice while taking an exit on the highway (tight curb). 2 wheels on the ice the others were on the pavement, the car kicked sideways for a second and AWD took control of the rest. My front passenger didn’t notice anything but the back hit his head on the side window.

So I didn't they do this with the other ones that have the new infotainment, in terms of the heated seats. I guess they realized their mistake by putting them inside of the infotainment
@ChristianRunsNY

I really don't like the big screen with even the seat heaters buried in there. It's too slow for that. The smaller screen with some actual buttons functions a lot better.

Dang am I seeing a way to big touch screen on there and no manual controls? That would be a expensive pain in the A Not to mention a maintenance issue & Expense. Can't control anything when the overpriced tablet in the car's dashboard goes out. and a big ugly greasy smudged up mess on my dashboard that I would have to be cleaning all the freaking time. And I just love extra messes and cleaning projects to have. With the cheese ball tablet electronic controls and plastic manifolds etc. In the future is there going to be any such thing as a classic car even being able to exist?

They finally fixed that. My 2020 Outback had the crappy split for AA, but my 2023 Wilderness Edition outback has the updated infotainment with wireless AA and Carplay. I believe all new Subarus went that route (at least with this infotainment system).

If I can't get it with a six-speed manual transmission, it's a no-go. Okay maybe the Slightest chance with a six-speed automatic. And that is pretty unlikely. But it is an absolute no-go with a CVT
@bazilmynazzle
Жыл бұрын
You're in the minority, unfortunately. Thus the reason they stopped offering that option.
@RRr-yl8zr
Жыл бұрын
@@bazilmynazzle actually you can get the base model smaller engine with a stick. I think they do this just to try to get their fleet miles per gallon rating up. Much more than people preferring a CVT transmission. I don't know anyone that prefers a CVT transmission. Especially these that you can't get rebuild parts for and have to buy a brand new one for a huge amount of money and replace it like you have to with Subaru. What they're relying on is for people to be ignorant of what they are getting in their transmission and to be ignorant of a CVT and it's problems. Especially on a vehicle "designed to go down nasty rough roads" . Roads that will often be rough steep dirt roads... You know, SUV stuff 😅😁 and nobody will know what the minority is because there is no option. If for the same price or less depending on your choice you could get a automatic transmission or a stick shift instead of a CVT Then we will know what the minority is. I would think at the very least people would choose a 6-speed automatic over a CVT
@RKmndo
Жыл бұрын
@@RRr-yl8zr The stick isn't available on the '24. The Crosstrek CVTs are more reliable these days. The first few years were sketchy, and Subaru didn't recommend changing the fluid. They have started recommending fluid changes, and at shorter and shorter intervals now. If you change it every 30K miles, Subaru's chain-driven CVTs are actually pretty reliable. They're not like the belt-driven CVTs of some other mfrs.

Newer CVTs feel a lot better than the original ones in the previous gen. My hope is that they’re headed in the right direction as more automakers turn to cvts to meet the stupid epa mpg ratings. I have no complaints for the cvts in the newest Subarus and Toyotas.
