My 2017 Tundra DC 4x4 5.7 got 13.2L per 100 (17.8mpg) on a tank which I got 750km. The trip was from London through Buffalo to Philly through the hills of Pennsylvania cruising at 105km/hr. This is only slightly worse than my 2008 Tacoma. I’m pretty happy with it mainly because the truck was cheap and so reliable. Note I have a Lear Cap, TRD dual exhaust and run BFG KO2 stock size. For those who say they get 20mpg with a 5.7L, no way.

I can live with that compared to what I am getting now. I am getting 23mpg average in a diesel Grand Cherokee, but with the high cost of diesel and the problems these emissions systems have I will be happy to scrap it. I should have got the v8. I shouldn't have bought a Jeep. Or anything from Stelantis. :D

My 2023 SR during the winter in about -15 weather in icy snowy weather is getting 14.7L per 100km (95% City Driving) (showing on my indicator) it's decent for a full size, nothing to write home about but good for what it is!

I have the 2021 tundra trd off road crew cab..I still have the stock tires on it..I drive about the same style as you and I get 13 liters per.100 kns ...I also pull a trailer 17 ft enclosed weighting 4000 lbs and I get about 15 kms per.100 k driving around town. I love my truck ...straight hwy trips from Red.Deer.to B.C I get about 11.4 kms per.100 k on the hwy.cheers jv

I sold my Silverado HD 6 liter about 6 months ago, I’ve got a 23 Tundra limited I Max, non hybrid, it’s better than the Silverado, but I’m averaging 15mpg, I’m disappointed , it’s not living up to factory or dealer mpg projections , but the truck has great power

My 24 limited crewmax is getting 17.5 MPG on the dash in MN. When I calculate it at the pump it’s 18 MPG. My 2020 Platinum Crewmax got 15 MPG in the winter. So not a huge bump in mpg but the 2024 moves way faster, rides better, has space under the rear seat and more features. Oh yeah, it was more expensive than my 2020.

I expected better fuel mileage from the new Tundra. Does not seem like eliminating the V8 was worth it.

I know what you mean about the V8 sound and if it's missing. Maybe it should be a crime if they don't have a V8 in a truck or a muscle car.

Driving pickups daily would you consider a SUV, in this case perhaps a Sequoia now that your a family man? So maybe keep one pickup and then have the family vehicle be a SUV. Having four kids I needed the Expedition in addition with my work trucks. So I had the best of both worlds. Just wondering if your thinking about doing something similar.

Not bad with mileage. I get 14.3 mpg with the 5.7v8, with 35 I get 11-12 mpg. With my LX600 I’ve been getting 13.2 mpg. So not much improvement for me.

Interesting. I get the same in my '19 f150 w/ 5.0, level and 35s. I thought the v6 would be around 11 or 12l per 100kms.

@boston1450

@abethebabemike From what I understand same or 1 mpg more. BUT keep in mind the 2.4 4banger is moving a truck that weighs 3-500lbs more then the 3rd Gen. The 4 Gen is heavier & has a smaller gas tank. No one knows how the Turbo is going to last. It's a waiting game....I get 20-24mpg with 2023 trdSport 4×4 4dr SBed.. Not broke in quite yet. Completely stock (minus stud tires-temporary). If I need a Full Size bed I hook onto a utility trailer. It's worth it to save on fuel - in today's economy.. im waiting to see the Tacoma Hybrid thats the fuel saver. Probably a 70,000.00+ truck. So I think I will pass.. Keep the older Taco & get a 4banger truck OR car & park the 4×4 unless needed

Nothing beats the gen 2!! They made them ugly too. You don't buy a v8 for fuel efficiency, you buy it for power. Those 6's don't pull like the v8's
