Thanks a million! I made my purchase today. Aiper S1 was the one that would fit our needs most. We’ve needed a new cleaner for a while. I hated messing with our stupid connected Polaris thing. We’ve had the same type for 20 years! After lots of studying, your video sealed the deal. We appreciate you!!!!

I bought the Aiper S1 from Amazon because I wanted a cordless unit and the price seemed worth trying it out since I can just erturn it if not satisfied. So far I am really impressed despite the random paths. We have a large flat area and then sloping walls all around to the deep end (it struggles a bit on sloped corners. It always picks up all of the leaf and similar debris and a good portion of silt (which has been significant lately with a lot of rain and wind in our area). I didn’t find that the powerful pump discharge pushes the bottom debris about enough to make it significant. It’s light and easy to fish out of the pool (it drives itself to a wall and stops). It re-charges in about a 4 hour period (but I never clean more than once a day and normally every two days depending on pool use). I wouldn’t use a pool robot for opening cleaning, and I find a proper vacuum brush head cleaning makes th efloor less slippery (despite it looking clean). The wall cleaning action works quite well, and will most certainly inhibit algae growth as it’s action moves fresh chlorinated water around into what is usually a stangant layer against the walls (where algae would normally take hold). Overall I am quite impressed and happy with the Aiper Scuba S1, and ultimately glad I didn’t purchase the heavier Aiper Scuba S1 Pro (although I would have IF we had a pool bigger than our 16 x 16 x 34’ L-shaped pool. (I considered the Polaris Freedom as well, but could not justify the extra cost when manually vacuuming our small inground pool doesn’t take that long (we started using a concrete roller and brush rectangle type wide head for daily cleaning prior to the robot as it allows a much faster quick vacuum on our vinyl pool than our regular triangular brush vacuum head which I used for a heavier cleaning every couple of weeks). Now I pop the Scuba S1 into the pool each morning and spend more time swimming in the afternoons instead of cleaning.

Wow, that was a lot of work. Thanks for taking the time. I'm a tethered cleaner person and keep my pool covered to keep evaporation down when not swimming so un-tethered isn't really a good option. I also leave the sweep in the pool 24x7 and the current one is going on 3 years with no issues. Still great to see what's what in the non-tethered world.

I bought the Seauto Seal after watching you previous video. It worked well for half a season in my little Amazon pool. Now that I have a large real pool it lasted two weeks before one of the track motors broke. I managed to talk to someone at Seauto who told me to send a video of it going in circles. That was early May and haven’t heard anything since 🤦🏻♂️

That's disappointing, they are supposed to have a 2 year warranty. Unfortunately when I made the video last year they had great warranty service and even a phone number based in California. That phone number now automatically disconnects, and emails are sporadic. Something fishy definitely happened because Maytronics (Dolphin) is now selling the Seauto Seal under their own name for considerably more money: amzn.to/3xKJ0rx At least with Maytronics you know they will honor warranty.

Exactly the same happened to me. Seauto Seal worked perfectly for about 8 month, then it just stopped working. Was having conversation with customer support for about 1 month with no success, they asked me to send a video and order details which I did twice, and then just stopped answering my emails. Indeed their phone never worked as well. I pushed Amazon and was able to get a refund. Also looking to their social platforms (fb and insta) we can see tons of comments about not answering emails and phone calls. They are complete scammers. Would never recommend this brand to anyone.

What made the difference is the MULTIZONE MODE which cleans my 30000 Gallon Grecian L shaped pool, walls, floors, swimout and steps in 2 hours. No other cordless model I tried even came close. I bought the aiper s1 pro had it for 2 days and returned it to Amazon. It couldn't navigate my pool's geometry with sloped floors and perimeter ledge 3 feet below water line so water line feature became useless. I replaced with maytronics dolphin sigma a $400 price difference but I've had it for 3 weeks and it does a significant better job cleaning. Climbs up to whole wall to get the water line. I'm surprised none of the dolphin pool bots made it into the video... I do love this channel and the thorough reviews of the types of products that I'm interested in using. Keep up the good content.

Very much appreciate your unbiased evaluation of these robots. My six year old Dolphin Triton PS is about ready to retire. I had to change out the guts a year ago and the power supply case and power cord are rapidly deteriorating from the punishment of the southern Arizona sun. The only problem I've had with it is, it can get hung up on the pool drain cover. I've read that this is not an uncommon issue for pool cleaning robots. Are the drain covers in your pool flush fit? Great review, thanks! You are the only one upto date who mentioned the useless secondary filter on the S1 Pro, which really is a joke the way it is done. Pure marketing... Have you updated the firmware on any of the units before testing? I just bought an Aiper S1 Pro and did a firmware update (from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1) and found the navigation capabilities far superior to before the update. Before it would always get stuck at the stairs because when going down the last step, it always "fell" back to the same spot so it did the same spot over and over again. After the update it managed to get on after 2-3 attempts and also had a satisfying close overlap when cleaning the walls. Very satisfied with the unit now!

As I mentioned, the filter has pretty small holes and is easily clogged. The Beatbot has a suction power draw monitor and will stop cleaning if the bin is clogged, which would be very often in a pool that dirty. Unfortunately the Beatbot should have the ability to go to the surface and connect to WiFi to send error notifications, but it doesn't and instead it just stops cleaning and sits on the bottom of the pool until you fish it out.

This is by far the best video review I have watched. Detailed, full of relevant information (like how much stuff comes out when you take the bot out of the water! That is super useful). Unbiased. I really like the Wybot S2 Pro, but don’t like the fact that its docking station stays in the pool. Does anyone know if you *have* to install it in the pool, or can you just take the bot out of the water and carry it to its dock, located in a dry spot outside the pool? Again, super good video. In a review for the S2, the reviewer said that you aren't supposed to leave the sponge filter in if you're doing anything other than floor-only mode and that the S2 Pro is the same as the S2 but with the dock included. (Makes that a rather pricey dock given the discounts on the base S2!) Since you've spent a good amount of time with the S2 Pro, I was wondering if that's what you've seen with the pool cleaner. I tend to leave my cleaners in "clean everything" mode, so I wouldn't mind just leaving the sponge filter in to ensure that I'm not missing small particulate. (Maybe use the course filter?)

I’d really like to get your thoughts on these versus well regarded corded robots like the Dolphin S300. Biggest drawback I’ve found after 3 years is the cord degrading and developing extreme memory/tangling issues. Maytronics claims this is because my pool chemistry is off but this is not true and is a well known problem. A replacement cable is around $90. My next bot will be cordless it’s just a question of when I decide to upgrade.
@TheHookUp

Tethered cleaners can generate more suction because they have unlimited power. Usually that just means that they can use a finer filter in their debris bin. The downsides of tethered cleaners are the hassle of dealing with the tether, deterioration of the tether, and usually less "smart" navigation because the tether getting tangled pulls on the robot which prevents it from keeping a straight heading.

Are there any bots that are specifically better for irregular/kidney shaped pools? I feel like my Aiper Scuba S1 often gets stuck in the same areas due to the rounded walls throwing off its navigation.
@TheHookUp

S1 doesn't have any real navigation, it is mostly a random pattern. You may benefit from a robot with more programmatic navigation like the S1 Pro, Wybot S2, or Beatbot.

Definitely need to add the Degrii Zima Pro against these.

@@TheHookUp do you do a comparison of wired robots? Wireless seem underwhelming for the price..

Awesome, thank you. My Dolphin Triton PS just died and I started looking at cordless models. Even with a swivel the Dolphin's 60' cord was always a pain and tangled. I am looking at the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro as the Wybot 2 pro is not available yet. My pool is 30,000 gallons so a larger battery in the pro would be nice. Subscribed

As I showed, the S1 actually has significantly longer runtime than the S1 pro.

Just out of interest - why did you give the Wybot S2 Pro and the Aiper S1 Pro the same score for sand, when your comments in the filter section suggest that the Aiper S1 Pro wasn't filtering out the sand properly and was therefore redistributing it in the pool? I have a common problem with 'red rain' (aka sand in the pool) and I'm trying to figure which is better for that between the Wybot S2 Pro and the Aiper S1 Pro

I gave the Aiper the benefit of the doubt that my unit possibly had a bad seal and that others would not have that issue. The Wybot S2 performed better in my testing though.

Is there a significant difference between Wybot s2 and S2 pro except the dock ? Because every option mentioned on the S2 pro already exist on the s2 Thank you

I have a Acapulco deck, about 8" deep and 8'x8' and 16" deep 8'x8'. My corded dolphin won't go in the 18" deep. Which do you think would work the best for that?
@TheHookUp
3 ай бұрын
I think your best bet is a bot that won't even try to get up there. I'm not aware of any cleaners that can deal with 8" depth.

You've ruined all the other pool robot reviews. They just say "look how cool they are ". Now after this im asking, whats the coverage percent, does it pick up debris? I need data!

s2 pro vs s2? seems like mainly just the in pool charging dock. i guess that's convenient, but not sure i like a power cord running across the pool deck or the chance of it being toasted by a power surge.
@TheHookUp

S2 Pro and S2 are identical except the inductive charging dock. However, without the dock you get 1) No scheduling 2) No control via the app 3) No multiple cleans without taking out of the pool. If the S2 was ~$100 more than the Aiper S1 I think it would be a good choice, but at ~$200 more I don't think it's worth it.

Still a very good cleaner, I like the ultra fine secondary filter, but I think the charging base is the "star feature" that differentiates it from the Aiper.
