The Summer Olympics are a time of unity, celebration and extraordinary athletic achievement. At the UW, we're bringing that same spirit to our campus community with a fun and engaging Summer Olympics Challenge. This is your chance to challenge yourself, support your colleagues and celebrate the joy of the games together!
How to Earn Your Five Purple Rings:
From Friday, July 26 to Sunday, August 11, your challenge is to complete each of the following well-being tasks DAILY. Just like the Olympics, this challenge is no small feat!
Exercise: Engage in 30 minutes of exercise.
Nutrition: Consume 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables.
Hydration: Drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water.
Mindfulness: Spend 10 minutes practicing mindfulness.
Connection: Connect with a colleague or family member for at least 15 minutes.
Kindness: Perform one act of kindness. Teams should also participate in one volunteer activity during the two-week program.
The Whole U will host a variety of events and activities throughout the two weeks to help you reach your daily goals, and all are invited to join our Opening Ceremony on Thursday, July 25 at noon featuring UW Softball and Olympic coach Heather Tarr.
The UW Summer Olympic rings represent the unity of Seattle campus, UW Bothell, UW Tacoma, UW Medicine and our UW retirees. By earning your purple rings, you'll embody the spirit of unity and excellence that defines the Olympics and our UW community. This signature program is benefitting Special Olympics Washington. If you are able, we encourage a donation of $5 to support their life-changing programming.
