Can a traveler make 2 separate transfer transactions for $100 each for a same day pickup?
@nomadicfire
2 ай бұрын
You can, but that is a more expensive way. For example, 2 x one hundred dollar transfers would be $12 in fees. 1 x two hundred dollar transfer is only $9. Is there a reason you prefer two transactions?

@nomadicfire thank you for your response. One is for my co-traveler and the other is for myself

Makes sense. My girlfriend and I usually just use one Western Union transaction and she pays me back her half via PayPal or Revolut. But it really only saves a few bucks.

Western Union is currently offering 1 GBP = 1,350 Argentina Pesos. If you use the link below, your first transfer is free and you get a $20 Amazon Gift Card for signing up. link.nomadicfire.com/western-union

After 3 transfers, you can’t send more unless you’re registered with DNI. Do you have experience with this?

I had more than 3 transfers without any issues nor DNI. Did the app stop you from transferring or someone at Western Union not give you money?

Is it a Western Union in Ezeiza?
@nomadicfire

There is one in the Arrivals terminal 2nd floor. However, it isn't a "full-fledge" Western Union, it's inside a post office. Look for a "Correo Argentino" sign. Not sure how well stocked they are with cash.

Just take a $100 bill into a sweet shop and get a great rate. Don’t waste your time on getting 1% more pesos. Use your time enjoying yourself rather than chasing marginally better exchange rates.

Exchange rates are fluid. Some days Western Union and blue dollar rates are the same and other times there is a 5% difference or more. If you are only there for vacation for a couple weeks, 5% may not be worth it. But, if you're an expat living there longer term 5% is a chunk of money. If you spend $2000 USD per month, 5% means $1200 dollars more steak each year. I compile and compare updated blue dollar, Western Union, and credit card rates each day below, so you always know where to get the best rates. nomadicfire.com/argentina#rates
