*PNOA Volunteers Clean Tsawwassen Ferry Causeway for Coastal Cleanup Day*
On October 5th, 2024, 39 dedicated volunteers from PNOA took part in International Coastal Cleanup Day, focusing their efforts on the Tsawwassen Ferry Causeway. Armed with gloves and trash bags, they spent the day removing plastic, debris, and litter from the shoreline, preventing harmful waste from polluting the ocean and endangering marine life. The cleanup not only improved the local environment but also highlighted the power of community-led conservation efforts.
This initiative had a ripple effect, boosting awareness around sustainability and demonstrating PNOA’s commitment to preserving natural spaces. By coming together, PNOA members not only contributed to environmental health but also strengthened their sense of unity and shared purpose.
After the hard work, the volunteers gathered at Deas Island Park to celebrate their success with a mix of learning and fun:
*First Aid Training* by Suzey, giving members valuable life-saving skills.
*Outdoor Gear Demo* by Skyview Outdoor, showcasing the latest adventure equipment.
A lively *team game* that brought laughter and camaraderie.
The day was a meaningful blend of service, community, and celebration, reinforcing PNOA’s values while making a positive impact on both the environment and its members.
