As an Acura owner and long time enthusiast, I will say the design language is near the top of its class. However, when it comes to performance for the Type S division, I'm sad it does not compete well with its rivals. I understand Acura's approach in producing such vehicles with a conservative approach when it comes to performance, but for the money id say its def a stretch. Honda and Acura in this day and age is to market towards the comfort and luxury of their SUV segment. As an TLX ASPEC owner, I have been slowly shifting towards the BMW M division as my interest in more of a true performance has grown in the last couple of years. Acura markets this vehicle as a more sporty appearance vehicle but by no means close to the performance of its german rivals. The only true performance vehicle in the lineup is the integgy type s but even then for the price, its a tough sell. Let me know what you guys think as well!
@giovannimorales1675

As a former BMW client advisor, I would say the sweet spot is getting a BMW X5 M60i, the M division is awesome but trust me you will start hating it on trips over 30 mins, its rough and feels uncomfortable, now the X5 M60i you essentially get the best of both worlds. Now having said that, if you are a person who changes vehicles every 3-5 years then you get a BMW, however if you want a “keeper” car, this 2025 Acura MDX Type S definitely looks like a keeper.

Wow looks like separate teams worked on the interior. The dash looks like a 3 layer cake. I'm seeing 4 different contrasts of black along with lines going everywhere but not exactly matching up. I'll miss the mid 2005-2010 SUV's that had utility to them...Cheyenne, Pilot, Pathfinder, etc. I still take my MDX camping, moderate towing and offroading. Honda has already done well in getting the software and UI just right for the touchscreens in their current-gen vehicles so I know the screen functionality is superb and so I'm glad to see the touchscreen brought over. I just hope to see more effort in the integration in upcoming refreshes as well as in the other models as it currently falls victim to being an afterthought here and so now the ergonomics suffer. It's just not something I would expect to see in an Acura product. I'm also really hoping that the audio is up to par with the previous ELS systems because those have been such a pleasure to have.
@mwlivingstoncolorado

I have a current-gen Acura MDX A-Spec. I'm not happy with the vehicle. The A/C is really bad (notice how the reviewer had to keep it on "lo" the entire time); the heat is just as poor; the heated and ventilated seats produce almost no cooling or heat; the car has rattles everywhere; and there are issues with low-speed transmission hesitation. And the service at Acura hasn't been great either, with none of these issues yet resolved. And while it looks great, they made the hood longer to accomplish that look at the expense of rear-seat legroom. My MDX has way less 2nd-row legroom than my 2015 Highlander did. On the plus side, the sound system is incredible, the ergonomics are good with the buttons, and the headlights are phenomenal.
