The all-new 2025 BMW 1 Series will arrive in Australia towards the end of 2024 with two variants, including the entry-level front-drive 118 and the flagship all-wheel drive M135 xDrive hot hatch.
Yes, the traditional ‘i’ badge suffix, which stood for petrol injection, has now dropped for the fourth-generation (F70-series) 1 Series and will be reserved for future battery-electric BMW models.
carsales had an early audience with the new M135, which is actually slightly slower than the old M135i - probably because it has a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and not a traditional eight-speed auto - but brings much higher levels of technology and a fully-loaded standard equipment list.
