@@StormWalker101 this is Normal for all new engines. They already issued a recall. Plus reliability and durability is not only an engine thing. It's a vehicle over all. @StormWalker101
3 ай бұрын
@@KINGWD0110Agreed. I loved Toyota for just it’s reliability even though I hated its century old interior but now it seems like the old reliability is not same anymore. Even the usually reliable ones have persistent issues and not just with engines. The ones that use old tech are still running without issues like 4L v6 in 4runners. What I don’t understand is that American brands are still pumping out v8s and all japanese ones are either v6 or inL6 and turbocharged too. I understand emissions but then doesn’t that affect American brands too?
@KINGWD0110
3 ай бұрын
@@StormWalker101 correct , but if r forced to buy a turbo charged car. Wud u buy American brand or Japanese? For me I wud go Japanese because they put some effort in engineering more than American. Ya know how long it took ford to perfect the 3.5 ecoboost, almost 10 years . They had issues with GDI then they made a dual fuel injection, direct and port. After that they had issues with the phasers, then they fixed it and now the spark plugs and so on . But when toyota made a new turbo engines. They almost got it right the first time until this recall came in. And by the way this recall is not a design issue like ford. It is a manufacturing issues only that is causing this. Another thing with GM they always been making V8 's . They shud b the masters of V8's. But this still have issues with thier V8's such ass oil burning, carbon build up, lifters issues that is caused by the dynamic fuel management system! Chrysler just stopped making v8's. In order to stay on the safe side. I bought a 2022 FJ cruiser with the 4.0 V6. Where I'm from it is still on sale till 2023. But I still like American cars.
@StormWalker101
3 ай бұрын
@@KINGWD0110 I would argue the manufacturing defect claim. The material used in the main bearing is the issue and toyota simply doesn’t want to acknowledge the fact by deflecting it and ford technically also had the same issue with subpar materials used to build lifters and valves, that would become brittle and break. For that reason they did an improved the design which is not too far off from what Toyota will be doing in the near future as part of their continuous improvement process. I am not saying American vehicles are great but Toyota isn’t the same as they used to be either. However you’re right in the sense that if I had to choose between “turbocharged” American or Japanese cars, I would probably choose Japanese. However, I like to have more choices than just turbocharged and that’s where the difference lies. Furthermore, GMC and Chevy are also the only ones offering a diesel option. Unfortunately living in America is a nightmare for owning a Toyota, with dealer have nightmarishly high markups and not honouring under warranty repairs or giving a very difficult time to customers. Where you live sounds like a very good place to own vehicles but that rule doesn’t work everywhere else.
