As it worked out i got 5 to 6 wee.ks in Christ Church. THE 15 LB BROWN TROUT IN THE RIVERS WERE CONSIDERED AS PAN FISH (HA HA) I fished some trully wild rivers that had horse or helicopter access only. The Rakia river near Dunedin I caught a 45 lb king salmon. What memories.

That net with the scale in the handle would seem like the net of choice as much fuss it is with a short-handled net, plus takes the mystery outa guessing the weight. Your mate Trippin On Trout could use one as well. Fella is losing weight and wind landing fish, but it makes for good footage. Tough job, but somebody's gotta do it. ;-)

Lots of rainbows and brown trout in the Great Lakes larger than 20lb. Lake Ontario, NY record for rainbows is 31.3 and record brown trout is 33.1. The largest I caught while living in NY from the shoreline was 23LB, but 20lbs are quite common. When I first moved to Oswego NY, I kept 5 trout that were all over 8LBs, and some of the locals laughed and said they were babies.

@@DoctorSess I live in New Hampshire now and extremely lucky to catch a 2LB trout in creeks and rivers. Most trout in the creeks and rivers here are only 6-12 inches. Occasionally people catch 10LB trout in Connecticut River, but that's a massive river 110 yards across and up to 80 feet deep.
