What size line are you using for this? And what is the Extra Hand thing for? Bringing it down? I have a red/orange 12m version of this kite and want to order this black/white 20m next. Thanks for the video.

Hi Nick, it’s on a 170kg line. This is probably over cautious on my behalf, especially when flown in this wind as it could be flown on much lighter line. I’ve flown it in much stronger wind where the kite has just about pulled me over and I’ve been unable to tie down, where I definitely needed that line strength! I also have a 12m octopus, you can see in other of my videos. I fly this on 110kg line, for comparison. The ‘extra hand’ is a Crocodile line grip, an absolute must. If you haven’t got one I recommend you look to get one. It’s a clever little bit of kit that clamps on the line, whatever size. You can then hold the kite on your wrist with its cord, freeing up both hands to tie the kite down. In the video I’ve just left it attached to the line but it can be easily removed. Hope you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching. Tim

Hi, I’ve had this a couple of years now. I bought it through AliExpress from iKite store. Unfortunately most kites seem to be made in, what are actuality really good, kite factories in China. I believe even Prism kites, a great American? brand, even outsource to China, which is probably why you can’t get Prism kites easily anymore. AliExpress is like a Chinese Amazon. I’ve bought several kites through them and the quality of the stitching, fabrics etc have been first class. However, there are a few good suppliers and several less desirable. Either way, this is a great kite. The world seems to have changed since I bought this, so you makes your own choice. Prices have rocketed recently….
