Have to agree about evolving re what you want to pack. It takes time to figure out the best set up for your own needs and wants. I've tried all ways😂. From being over packed and prepared for "what if" situations to "bloody hell, what was I thinking" minimalist packing. Its a learning curve. I looked at that rogul myself. It appears to be well made and 21bros have great reviews. I decided against it however as without going into lengthy details of how I travel and camp it wasn't practical for me to only have one big bag with one opening which meant having to rummage through stuff to get what I wanted. I have tried one large bag but after many years of trial and error I prefer several smaller bags. I'm looking at the 21Brothers bags(panniers) and "plus bags" system🤔. I know there are other companies making modular bag systems but most are way out of my pocket. Keep us all posted on how you get on with the rogal xl. Cheers

Thanks for your feedback, to be fair I have a cheap 3 bag modular set up (Autokicker) which I still use occasionally and the Oxford Aqua t50 dry bag, used for some camping trips, but I was looking for something to do long distance trips and that resulted in getting the 21 Brothers bag. So far it’s proving to be a good choice but like the contents it will always be determined by the specific journey and needs..every trip I guess is going to be different. Thanks again and keep in touch as I always like to see how others are getting on and what new ideas come along, regards Andrew 👍🏻

@@thecampingbiker791 thanks for your reply Andrew. Yes, luggage and contents depend on the trip. There are far too many KZitemrs who are far too opinionated posting stuff like "you need this, you dont need that" etc. Much better to (like you have done) say what works for you. Last week I rode from the Med end of the Pyrenees up to the Vendee. The planned trip meant I'd be camping two nights and staying with friends two nights. I decided to eat cheap cafe meals when camping so didn't need my full camp kitchen but I like my morning coffee so just took a tiny gas canister and foldaway stove that fit inside a Chinese knock off 750ml ss mug along with tea and coffee. Tent, sleep mat, sleeping bag and liner, inflatable pillow, brew kit, a small "emergency"bag containing first aid kit, torch, zip ties, lighter, power bank, etc etc, a 40oz water bottle, puncture repair kit, three days worth of change of clothes, personal hygiene bag, waterproofs and two bottles of wine all easily swallowed into one waterproof rolltop bag tied down with rokstraps. But there again, it was a short trip and not off the beaten track. It'd be a different matter and set up if I was off for a month down to and through Morocco for instance😉. By the way, i rode just under 1100miles. Roughly of which 50% was motorway riding between 70-80mph,the rest of the time was gentle 50mph minor road riding with a bit of spirited gear change riding through the twisties. I purposely recorded all my milage and fuel stops. My little 2015 cb500x never missed a beat and returned a respectable 72mpg. Great little bikes. Cheers

I'm American. I own the giant loop coyote bag. I'm considering the 21 brothers due to being a waterproof bag. What's your take on this?

Welcome Julio…coincidentally I’ve just bought a second hand giant loop coyote along with the addition of a new 17ltr rogue bag! The only reason for this is I got the coyote at a cheap price and was looking at a more modular lighter set up for summer camping/travelling and this would seem to work, although so far only used the once! Getting to your question about the 21 Brothers I would highly recommend it for the waterproofness of the bag and particularly the orange waterproof inner lining which genuinely makes seeing things in the bag easier, although I do use separate bags inside just for ease of access to stuff… I’ve had the bag in continuous use, summer and winter camping, over 2 years covering about 18,000 and it has never let water inside, this exceeded my expectations to be honest! it does get thrown about a lot, other than a quick clean if muddy I don’t do any maintenance on it.. the other thing to note is that the straps are all still in perfect condition, the metal buckles are understandably a bit tarnished (plenty of gritted roads here in UK during winter) but perfectly working and all the bags stitching in good condition, along with the inner lining being as good as new. Great value and the owners of the company are serious off road riders themselves! It’s difficult to do a direct comparison as only used the coyote once but after using the coyote during the next 12 months I’ll end up doing so. My plan is to use the 21 Brothers as winter bag (larger) and Coyote as summer bag…. hope that’s useful and thanks for watching, safe riding Andrew

Yes, it’s been used consistently and year round since buying and a brilliant bit of kit it is! Still completely waterproof and it has had heavy winter weather to deal with.. I’ll be doing an update video at some point this summer 👍🏻

Hi great videos about the 21 brothers bag. I definitely going to get one however I'm contemplating between the 40l and 50l and thoughts?

Hi Gary, thanks for the feedback. A lot depends on what you intend carrying and if not camping I’d be tempted by the 30ltr version but if camping it then depends how much gear you carry! Thinking about my use and reflecting on your question, I think I would now buy the 40ltr version with the strap down points and bottle bags and then just strap extra gear (or just tent) onto the bag. Also, I’ve now got some GIVI crash bar bags which provide 10ltr extra storage (5 each bag) so if buying now 40ltr would suffice. The counter argument to that is that because the bags roll down to the size you fill the larger bag gives more flexibility....choices choices 😂 Let me know how you get on and hope the info helps 👍🏻

Thats the thing I tend to travel fairly light. my camp would be a tarp, bivvy, sleeping bag. 3 socks, 3 boxers, 3 t-shirt, 1 pants. First aid and a tool kit and spare tube . Possibly a small army cooker so I'm hoping the 40 does the trick. I'll be sure to let you know how I get on when I get it 👌 Appreciate the reply

@@gary9768 I think 40ltr would be more than enough for your load, and remember you can just strap extra on top if needed! Let me know how it goes for you, all the best Andrew
