Such a great compelling conversation between athletes at the top of their game …connected also to the history of surfing. Hey Koa, you've mentioned before you get sea sick, me too. Do you ever get sea sick when surfing? Very true. Eg ski racing is notorious for concussions and ACL tears. Developing the right muscle balance in the legs and neck massively reduces the occurrence of these injuries and their severity. And as Nathan points out, this is done using weights, not bouncing around on a bosa ball.

Core sticks. That's why it's core. Don't focus on views, focus on passion. 1) you won't burn out and it's less of a grind because it's what you care about and 2) the folks that care about what you care about will stick with you. So maybe you don't get the million views once, but instead you keep the 10s of thousands of views week after week. The second is far more valuable in the long run. And Nate, wise words re: how to leverage the notoriety. I'm bummed you guys have to grow up so quickly and see the ugliness of the large corporations and media. But I'm glad you're sharing your hard earned wisdom with the younger crowd. And I know they hear you - so keep it up.

Guys, I’m a retired tennis coach from Brazil, who happens to be a surfer since a young age. I understand the subject of pro surfers/sponsorship, those things…that’s a crazy scenario to be a pro surfer. I really watch with admiration JJ the way he manage his career. If in tennis just top 50s can survive like a pro, imagine a surfer! By the way, I’m not uncle Mike, but I’m a decent 69 years old surfer.
