I stand by that cucumber comment! I used to take silica supplement and it was great for my hair but it can cause constipation and other sensitivities. Cucumber and watermelon consumed in abundance made my hair more flexible. Kim Snyder's Glowing Green Smoothie was my go-to breakfast for one summer and I can't praise it enough for the benefits my skin and hair have experienced. However, fastest hair growth was experienced with fenugreek (methi), although it makes me stink, so it may not be for everyone.

Mona V what helped me the most with alopecia is : low stress, eliminate food that give gut inflamation (is different for everyone, some might be wheat, milk etc, but for me it is nightshades and nuts), probiotics at every meal, cut caffeine and reduce sugar intake. Best, xoxo

I do love that you mentioned spinach and cucumbers. However all meat but especially beef, Lamb and other red meat, is known to clog the arteries and can actually slow blood flow to the brain. That is why males who eat a lot of meat, especially red meat (but really all animal products high in cholesterol) have been found to have erectile disfunction. It prevents the blood from flowing properly.

Though it involves feeding the hair... and not yourself (but that also works). :) To be honest though, as long as you keep a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, your hair will grow to the best of its capacity - and often the journey is more exciting than just reaching the goal :p
