I graduated high school in 2005. When the year stamp popped up I made an audible gasp in the theatre because it just then hit me about how much time had truly passed. I’m now in my parent’s and grandparent’s situation where their youth is now considered a “period piece” for shows, movies, and fashion LOL. Eminem became popular during the last of my middle school years and the bleached hair was real, man. The boys in school were either trying to look like a boyband member with the frosted tips or go full on Slim Shady. I never dyed my hair but my fellow girls were trying to look like either Britney, Christina, Jessica, or Mandy. Then Pink happened and jazzed it up a bit lol!

Damn I wish I went to high school during the 2000s. But I’m grateful for attending high school from 2017-2021. Probably wasn’t as fun as the 2000s (especially 2020 and 2021 which were my junior and senior years. We didn’t have any prom or other fun events except for graduation thanks to Covid) but with modern technology and other stuff, school was a bit easier

Pro tip: If this ever happens to you, you were not asking her to prom, you wanted to see if she had any friends that didn't have a date yet.
