The League of Nations was the first worldwide intergovernmental organisation whose principal mission was to maintain world peace - It was founded on 10 January 1920 by the Paris Peace Conference (Treaty of Versailles) that ended the First World War. - The founder of this organization was President Woodrow Wilson of USA. - President Woodrow Wilson’s Fourteen Points underline the creation of a general association of nations. - It was Woodrow Wilson who worked hard during Paris negotiations to bring about the birth of the League of Nations. - The League was actually established in 1920 and its head quarters was shifted from Paris to Geneva in Switzerland. - However, League failed to prevent the Second World War.
