8:07 Holi is the festival of Victory of Righteous Over Evil. So the holi celebration began when Praladh was saved from Holika by Vishnu Ji/Krishan ji. So there was a king whose nephew or son was Praladh and Praladh loved and worshipped Vishnu ji/Krishan Ji and that king wanted him to worship him but Praladh said that he sees Vishnu Ji/Krishan Ji in every one and worships him. That king tried to kill Praladh by trick. He called his sister named Holika; Holika had a boon that she cannot catch fire. So they got lot of wood collected and lit it on fire and Holika sat in it and asked Praladh see I am sitting here you too come here. Holika got Praladh and took him in and made sat him on his lap. Now while going Praladh saw many ants walking on the burning wood and saw Vishnu Ji/Krishan Ji in them and blissfully sat in. He had dedicated love, trust and faith in Vishnu Ji/Krishan Ji. And then Holika burns and dies but Praladh does not even got a scratch. And there more to that but for now it's ok. Since then Holi is being celebrated by burning Holi (holika) one day before the day of Holi in the evening.

@@suvashree100 Hahaha true ! But on a serious note for viewers being "freaked or grossed" out I urge you to keep an open mind. Once again this an instance of a certain way being considered "normal" because Europeans happen to do it that way, while the truth is that the vast majority of humans in fact DO NOT use them (whether it be hands, lavash, anjera, chopsticks what have you). Your hands are actually the thing you can be SUREST about - they are as clean as YOU made them, while cutlery in a public restaurant is as clean as ... ? And this should be doubly obvious to the people who like to cook - hands clean enough to touch the food when you cook are hands clean enough to eat with. Finally if you are wondering if its messy - well sure, for a toddler. Toddlers also leave 90 % of their food one their face and table when they are learning how to use a spoon. For a grown person it's like riding a bike - after a lifetime of practice the food never touches my hand below the first knuckle :)

Eating by hand is more hygienic and eco friendly than metal/plastic spoon n forks which might or might not be cleaned properly by the washer in kitchen. Hands help you choose better food portion size than spoons. Yes you might bite your hand once or twice but your brain learns. You also save money on extra dish washing soap you might use for cleaning those spoons/forks (think overall yearly saving jabs). So it's all well calculated in culture. We still eat in banana leaves in some places in India which are eaten by animals or used for making organic compost fertilizer in some parts of area. In short - eating by hands isn't dirty. It is good for environment and can also save you money in some ways. Glad to see you back Kristen ❤️❤️

How often do you bite the spoon..same goes with hands...a lifetime of practice makes you differentiate between food and fingers subconsciously...

Do you know how much you can make out of the food served just by touch?!! It was designed to eat with your hands to ensure that what you eat is good; it's your first defence. Footnote: The practice of eating only by your right hand and using your left hand for all other rudimentary works was developed to ensure no transmission of infection. You can get it in these times... There are many such samll reasons to why they do it. Sorry if I sounded bit condescending!

Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine in India that teaches us how to live in harmony with nature. According to Ayurveda, eating with your hands is not only hygienic but also beneficial for your senses and digestion. Ayurveda says that each finger represents one of the five elements: space (thumb), air (index finger), fire (middle finger), water (ring finger), and earth (little finger). When we eat with our hands, we make a gesture that activates these elements and balances the energies in our body. Also, when we touch our food with our fingers, we send signals to our brain that we are ready to eat, which prepares our stomach and other digestive organs for the process of digestion. Eating with hands also helps us to be more mindful of what we eat, how much we eat, and how fast we eat, which are all important factors for healthy digestion.

11:50 Jaby there are evidences of ancient history where people could bring miracles onto the land with a matter of belief and faith upon God. So, such strong believers of god are termed as his best devotees and these day modern people termed them as fools but when they got evidences like ancient scriptures, handwritten paintings, scuplted monuments they started believing in them. One of such belief gave birth to the Hindu god called ‘Rama’.

Most of the dishes in India, you can eat with spoon or fork or whatever. No one will judge you nor its disrespectful. But there are some dishes you got to eat with your fingers like Pani Puri, Naan.

Hey that’s no big deal !!! Indian’s aren’t fussy , if you are comfortable to eat with cutlery you can surely do that. No pressure. Just the Chapatis and pani puri are surely an exception.

16:34 so when you eat with the your mind not only get the taste from your tongue you also feel it and that also give your brain taste. So taste from your tongue + taste from your hand. In North India now (for last 50, 70) years have started eating rice otherwise before then people very very rarely ate rice. In Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Jammu, Kashmir still people eat rice very less. In South India people can't stop eating rice and in Bengal also.

I've eaten with my hands my whole life.. and eating rice with hands is more efficient to me. Just considering the size of the spoon and the hand.. also people who eat rice with fork needs to be stopped.. Taste wise, eating with hands tastes better.. maybe it mind tricking me or something. But it feels more intimate and u feel a deeper connection with the food. Also hands are a good thermometer you would never put anything in ur mouth if u can't hold it with ur fingers. I've burnt my mouth many time while eating with spoon and fork.
