I don’t know how this man lasted 20 years. Wow. I was an ethical, wfpb vegan for almost 5 years and living that lifestyle for that timeframe wrecked my health. Near the end my whole body hurt everyday. Just walking would make my knees achy. I had so much swelling and fluid retention… digestive issues, what went in came right back out. Bloating was horrible! Gas was horrible! I developed skin rashes, and sensitivity to things that I’ve never had before. I couldn’t regulate my body temperature. I was so sensitive to the cold and hot. The sunshine set my skin on fire. I became allergic to bees and wasps. Developed food sensitivities. My hair was thin and brittle as were my nails. I looked so much older than I was. I had no motivation to do anything. I developed depression, severe anxiety, brain fog, memory issues, overall cognitive decline. My mood was a constant struggle of being unstable. I was not a nice person and then I would cry. I’m so happy that I decided to reintroduce animal products into my life. They literally saved me from torture. I remember when I had my first taste of butter… everything came alive again. I remember saying “why did I ever give this up?” After a few months into eating a very heavy animal based diet full of eggs, butter and red meat… all my issues were gone completely. The only time I experience anything is when I eat more plants. So meat, eggs, butter and eggs will forever be my diet.

Hi I was a vegan for 4 1/2 years, I started feeling good at first when I started eating vegan then about a year after I started feeling tired dizzy to the point I was taken to the hospital thinking I was having a stroke luckily it was not they said I had vertigo,so I continued eating vegan and for all this time i was just hurting myself, I turned up low in iron, thyroid nodules, pre diabetic, knee pain, swollen body, uti, pins and needles hands and feet. gained alot of weight 250 pounds now and the weight just kept going up and my stomach growing. Till I saw a video of Dr berry I watched it and my mind just clicked then that led me to a hole other videos. now I'm watching this video. Two months ago I started eating eggs I felt guilty but I felt amazing feeling energy then I tried fish, chicken, and tomorrow I'm trying beef for the first time. I just finally woke up from this nightmare that was just hurting me.

I was vegetarian for decades and my health also collapsed. As far as feeling guilty, I did too, I still don't like that our bodies need animal meat. However, one of my favorite teachings is ' you cannot outsmart your own biology '. We are humans on earth and that's just the way it is. My body reacted so incredibly to eating meat again, everything healed, I'm over 50 and on no medications. I love animals so much but I can't deny my own incredible transformation.

Animals are a gift from GOD. We care for and love the animals and they give us life. Cows eat grass and then fertilize the earth with their poop 😊 to grow more grass it’s a beautiful life cycle. I am not a huge red meat eater either - also trying to help a chemo patient friend who has a sore mouth much of the time from chemo. Am finding that chopping up chunks of cooked steak (pulse just 2-3 times in a blender) makes eating it easier, also can easily add seasoning or flavor to taste. Burger is also easy when broken apart in a fry pan, can then eat just whatever amount and store the rest in the fridge until next meal is wanted.

That time I took so much care of myself, I was eating only organic, best quality, decent ammount of plants & fruit and legumes and...after loosing weight (however I never was fat) I started to feel the weakness in my body. My friends started worrying about me. I looked at my photos and realized how tired and sick I showed in them during the veggie stage. After injuring my arm during yoga (which I practised for 3 years) I knew my body had enought. On top of that my memory started to vanish, I had to check myself 2-3 times to remember. My hair became so fragile, thin and I developed lots of grey hair. I am 52 now, and since 2 years predominally eating eggs, meat, raw kefir, meat brooth and ocassional fruit. I feel much stronger, no iinuries, sharp memory. My hairdresser commented that my hair improved so much. I am impressed and so happy my friend but the mainstream narrative is against meat, anyway all mainstream media or universities and well paid scientists make various studies about how good is to be a veggie, these all are opposed to everything that it's normal or beneficial for humans. For me obviously there is a secret war against humanity (see vaccination and all these suddenly deaths) in this war try to convince people that the harmful staff is good in order to be always ill so you are a good client of farmaseuticas and of course to die young so they don't have to pay your pension. No carnivore is known to live a long life, except whales; which eat the cleanest meat and live in an alkaline environment. All the animals that live the longest and are the strongest are plant eaters. Inuit people who are adapted to eating meat live short lives. I love hearing these stories! It encourages me to keep going. I started at the end of January and am down 26 pounds and feeling more alive then I ever have! Brain fog is a real thing and it's tough to know it's there when that's all you've known for so long but when it lifts, boy do you feel it! I have more energy and require less sleep. My husband has joined me on this carnivore journey and he had to go off his diabetes meds because his sugars were so low. Years of doctor visits and prescriptions for both of us and not one doctor educated us on the type of fuel we were giving our brains and bodies! I'm so thankful for these videos Dr. Chaffee and your commitment to just simply letting other's share their true experiences! The evidence speaks for itself! And now I can't shut-up about carnivore :D

@@mariejones7136 Totally understand your concerns. There is a lot of information, and sometimes it comes down to who do you trust. I am a Registered Nurse, prior to my cancer diagnosis I took care of many cancer patients. When I received the diagnosis, I was devastated, and honestly angry. I actually lived a pretty healthy lifestyle. I ate pretty healthy, exercised and I have a very loving family. I seriously did not want to go through chemotherapy. I honestly feel like cancer is becoming more and more common. I believe it is due to all the processed foods, high carbs, and high sugar. The brain fog I have experienced and am still experiencing is pretty darn scary. My oncologist and neurologist have tried psyche meds, different supplements, etc. There are alternatives to chemotherapy if one has the funds, but most of us don't. My entire focus is to clear the brain fog and never have to go through chemo again. Drs. Chaffee,Berry,Kiltz, Elizabeth Bright, Jaime Seeman and others and have the research to back up Carnivore. There are papers that were written years ago by Harvard and Yale Physicians and Research Scientists showing alternatives to chemo, but because most hospitals make money from the pharmaceutical companies, Hospitals don't want to change practices and possible loose revenue. "Big Pharm" has the money to pay hospitals and Hospitals are a "business" and don't want to loose revenue. This was a little long winded, but I can say after only one week, I have stopped taking gabapentin (for neuropathy) my mind is actually starting to clear, and more importantly I have more energy. Follow your intuition, and do what is best for you. Never in a million years, did I ever think I would be a carnivore, yet here I am. Wishing you the Best 💖

2017 I started keto mainly for inflammation. However, because I did baking a lot with almond flour the inflammation did not stop. Found out by watching Sally K Norton why. So then I went on to Dr. Berry, Shawn Baker, Paul Saladino and your videos. I’m now doing the BBB&E challenge and posting daily. The inflammation I’ve lost since I stopped eating high oxalate foods and eating mostly meat and eggs is amazing. Now with BBB&E challenge it’s been interesting. This is my 14 day. The first week I lost 16 3/4 inches and 3.6 pounds. Tomorrow I’ll know how much more I’ve lost or maybe gained. My body is a yo-yo, but I’m doing well at 65 years old and no medications do I take. So meat is the best healing for our bodies.

@@bobomonkey702 yes I did. I had a spot like a callus on the side of my foot. When I step on the side It would feel like I had a piece of glass in it. I still have the spot of callus there and it still feels like there is a piece of the glass in it. But it does not hurt anymore. Then I also had little bumps on my thighs and arms that I thought was wild hairs and they would get sore. Those have went away, that is until I try and put sugar and Oxalated foods back in my system and they will appear. I also have experienced recently a stye inside my eye. It was from letting myself indulge in Dairy cream ice cream three days in one week. I knew better but at the time I did not care. But my body showed me I needed to care. So I’m going to try the cottage cheese ice cream and see if I like it. If not I’ll find something else. I’m now mostly 90 percent of carnivore and I do very little veggies. I do make some treats with coconut flour and alcohol sugars. But I still feel better doing this than I did eating all veggies with meats.

Kellie M, Fyi I'm 65. I've lost 70 lbs in 6 months on low carb. My joke is on a good day I was successful at Carnivore. On a bad day I was successful at Keto. Lol. I'm off 12 prescriptions. There's a woman Carnivore endocrine Doc ( in Italy) who routinely recommends consuming high levels of fat ( butter). Sometimes more than protein. The general rule is if you have diarrhea cut back on fat. Constipated? Up your fat. If you crave sweets eat FAT! It goes away quickly. I enjoy beef, salmon, eggs and cheese. I make "a low carb" quiche: 5 to 10 eggs depending on your container. I use a glass pie pan. I shop at Trader Joe's and add pancetta, jack/ cheddar grated cheese mix, goat cheese, 8 oz heavy cream and bake at 350 for 1hr and 15 to 20 minutes. There is even a Keto friendly homemade ice cream! Google CARNIVORES. They explain what they eat, how they feed their children, etc. I expect your kids are gonna ZLOVE this food. My body was craving fat and protein. Be gentle with yourself. It's a process. Best wishes.

LOVE this episode, love seeing ex-vegans finding healing through a species appropriate diet, AND being open and humble about their experiences. My only nitpick here is the "one big ruminant animal will last a person two years" comment from Dr. Chaffee. That is simply not true! I have been lion diet carnivore for six months, I bought my first side of beef (244lbs) three months ago and am down to the scraps, eating anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5lbs of meat a day (as a moderately active female). My next side just went to slaughter and I'll have it in a couple weeks. So I'm actually on track to eat two whole animals in one year, rather than one whole animal in two years! Either way, great episode. Great commentary. Thank you Dr. Chaffee for giving Irvin a platform to speak about his journey.

I'm glad you liked it! That's interesting about your side of beef. Specifically I was talking about an adult animal like a buffalo or bison, which are much larger than a steer, as an example of the best one could attain with an animal we normally raise for consumption, but when I bought an older cow, female and full grown, I got 1,500lbs of beef, no organs or anything. So for me averaging 2lbs a day, or more if I'm working out a lot, that would be about 750 days. So that's where I was coming from on that. Are you sure you're getting a side of beef and not a quarter?
@Audifan8595

@@anthonychaffeemd I am completely certain I am getting an entire half (I split a whole steer with another family member). That's a crazy amount of meat you got! At the moment I am strictly keto since October 2023. Before that I only ate some eggs and maybe a piece of chicken ones in a while. Before that I have been vegetarian and vegan too. It is only a week ago that I stumbled upon the carnivore diet and I almost immediately felt I have to make this change. Great interview, and questions, Dazl! 🇨🇦 It's like a university course in nutritional science to study Dr. Chaffee and Dr. Berry and see how your body reacts and improves. Love how you are spreading this powerful news with friends and family. I've never been Vegan; it's good to know what it can do to the body and the mind (wow!), because I'm never going to try it, especially now I'm on Carnivore. 36:00 N.B. Terrible impact of growing fruits and vegetables on other animals and thrir habitats, as opposed to what is eaten in the Carnivore way of eating. We humans ... we need to not only eat better but do better. And - our capacity to think about this seems to be linked to eating right. A heartfelt Thank You, Dr. Chaffee.
