Nice to see a single soft tap and the winners let go, don't argue, don't try to cheat, and the winners also let go carefully to not hurt anymore, that's class...

I don't know much about BJJ. Is this a common thing, or do people usually push things too far?
@OwenL2020
6 жыл бұрын
It's taught from day one to tap when you know you're done in BJJ. It's for your own safety. No one feels victory in injuring another player, and there's great risk in this sport. There are occasional competitors who just don't give up, and some don't realize when they're going out (blacking out), but I wouldn't say it's common.

@otalaedwin

@@jamesbradford1153 Basically the higher the level the more you start seing guys that have a lot of flexibility and resistance to chokes so they really tap late, an effect of that is that at these levels when they have a sub they really go hard but they mostly know they're not tapping anyone otherwise. Then you have insane people like some gracies that just don't tap, they're nuts.

Funny thing about BJJ: There are so many different levels of skill. You can be a really, really good black belt but when you face a guy like Lepri or Malfacine... you will, for sure, be tossed around like a doll and be submitted from positions you didn't even know existed. These dudes are simply amazing.

Frederico Pereira my coach explained it best: white to brown - everyone is around the same skill level. Black is a whole other thing
@fredericopereira6444
6 жыл бұрын
I get it but from white to brown there are a few different levels as well... any legit brown belt should be able to easily handle any white belt or blue for what it matters... but still... there are many different levels in black belt, mostly due to the fact that a lot of them just simply stop training and learning once they get it...
@Kphyl
6 жыл бұрын
Frederico Pereira nah I meant like brown vs brown or blue vs Blue , they'd be around the same level hahah. Brown should most definitely destroy a blue if they are indeed legit. But like for black, the skill level gap just widens

Some people are asking, how is @12:22 an Ezekiel? I believe it's correctly labeled Ezekiel. It's NOT a "mix" of arm triangle/Ezekiel -- unless that means he started with one and finished with the other. Here's why -- In both chokes, you need to block the artery on each side of the neck. The right arm could be in the same position for Ezekiel or arm triangle (although he'd normally grip inside his own sleeve for Ezekiel). The question isn't the attacker's right arm but the left (or in other words, the defender's right artery). Is he using his left arm to block the right artery (Ezekiel), or is he pressuring the opponent's shoulder into his artery (triangle)?? That's the only question. At first it definitely starts out as an arm triangle. But at 12:35, the attacker adjusts and brings his left arm into the right artery. By the time he sits on his left hip (12:36), he's completely relying on that pressure, not arm triangle pressure. Just try sitting like that and finishing with arm triangle pressure. It won't work. So it's correctly labeled an Ezekiel. Instagram> sidemountkilla

Can someone tell me why some competitions ban ankle locks or knee bars?
@jonas416si
3 жыл бұрын
Belts Divisions. Stright Ankle are usually allowed from Blue belts and on. Knee Bars, toe Holds, etc are allowed in Brown and Black Belts. Thing is that subs have a very little window from feeling the pain to be injury. (ACL anyone?) A lower belt that try to defend in the wrong way one of those ends hurting himself. High rate injury subs mean high rate of injuried people, not really worthy until competitors knows what they are really doing and pros.

The GI gives much more opportunities of positions, transitions and somehow it's harder to get in a leglock position when you're rolling with a GI. Maybe because of the amount of grips and ways to hold your opponent. What are your thoughts? Hugs from Brazil.
