Enjoyed this video so much - I added a lot of the fantasy books to my tbr 😊 Of the ones I've read - the book thief is my favourite book of all time, I've read it and listened to it many times, and I love it just as much each time. I thought the secret garden was great, and I've read the bell jar but don't remember it much. Also have a little life, the vanishing half and American dirt on my shelves to read. I was sad that someone laughed at your pronunciation though, that's so mean!!

Haha don't worry, I laugh at myself all the time with my pronounciation 😋 wow we really seem like we have the same reading taste. Now I have to pick up The Book Thief!!!

This video is why I subscribe. Most of these I want to read this year (or reread if it's a series e.g Jade City, The shadow of the gods). I am planning to binge Robin Hobb this year when I've read the last stormlight book. My other aim was to read more classics and nonfiction so The Secret Garden now has to be one of them!....Seriously this video is my 2022 TBR....The book thief is literally next to my feet waiting to be read.

I don't agree with the "The Toll" not being as good. I think it's totally up to personal taste. I found it brilliant, the arc and ending just made sense to me and it was my fav of the 3. So who knows 😉

Wow this such a good TBR (Besides White Fragiliy...💩). I've given 4.5-5 stars to basically of the fantasy/sci-fi books you have on the list...I mean I haven't read Winter king yet but it's actually historical fiction 😂 And Then There Were None, Born a Crime, Atomic Habits and The Book Thief are so good , some of my all time favorites. You have a fantastic reading year ahead of you!

Oh no! What’s wrong with white fragility? I have it on my kindle 😩
@readbykyle3082
2 жыл бұрын
@@losermillie I have very strong feelings about White Fragility but it's just a poorly written book, and it's written in a way that's a catch 22- if you disagree with her or criticise her argument in any way, that just proves her point. It's not that I don't believe white fragility exists (because it does) or that there is not fragments that are useful in that book, but Diangelo comes across as holier than thou and a hypocrite, and I fundamentally think she presents an argument like a toddler. "I'm right so that makes you wrong". Matt Taibbi did a pretty great take down of the book, with quotes and everything, if you wanted to google it. But overall, Diangelo quotes from other books that people are just better off reading instead. So You Want to talk about Race, how to be an antiracist, The New Jim Crow, White Rage, Biased by Jennifer Eberhardt are all much better books on the subject of race IMO

Wow! We share a lot of our TBRs. This will be the year I read Assassin's Apprentice, Name of the wind, and Winter King. I still need to read Don Quixote; I hear it's actually quite funny. I almost bought Atomic Habits last month, but opted for Flow by mihaly csikszentmihalyi. It still sounds interesting though!

Robin Hobb 👍 I enjoyed the series but have put off a re-read until I finally pick up the follow on trilogy Terry Pratchett 👍 obviously here in England we do all the best humour 😉 Hmm Lewis Carroll, Agatha Christie, Frances Burnett there is quite an English theme developing! For the classics I confess I thought "well I have seen the movie(s)" a few times...

@@ReadByAndy I've got about a dozen of the Discworld novels including The Colour of Magic, more from my teenage years so could be interesting to read again now. The only Terry Pratchett book I read over and over again was Good Omens which I have also watched twice over on Amazon and will no doubt again! I do put on the TV adaptions of Discworld on now and again too, Claire Foy in Going Postal 😍

malheureusement je ne lis pas vraiment en français! ☹️ À moins que les oeuvres soient publiées initialement en français (ex. Classiques comme Monte Cristo). Mais outre ça je ne lis pas vraiment de littérature québécoise.
