The Hoka Cielo X-1 is a tall-stacked marathon racer that uses a creative midsole geometry to stuff 46mm of PEBA foam in the heel. I's also a heavier shoe because of the extra foam we're getting. My first few runs in the shoe proved that it's a fun, bouncy ride over short distances. In this video, I put it through the long run test on a hilly 22 miler with 14 miles at marathon effort and two miles at threshold. Here's how it performed.
