This lecture is was created for use in Thermodynamics for Mechanical Engineers at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
In this lecture I go through an example for a Rankine Cycle with Reheat. We compare the thermal efficiency of this Rankine Reheat Cycle to the Four Component Rankine Cycle we analyzed in Lecture 24 ( • L24 Basic Rankine Cycl... ) and found that we increased Thermal Efficiency by about 1%. This might not seem like much, but the difference adds up (financially and environmentally) when you’re constantly running a nuclear or coal-fired power plant.
