I deserve a round of applause today because I made it all the way to 23 blocks before being tempted to crush these yummy babies. Mmmm. 😂😋 50 blocks is not far off 😅. Also I goofed and added way too much water, meaning i couldnt water play without causing a mess! 🙆🏾♂️
And I tried to diversify the crush styles - from large claw crushes to 2 blocks in one smashes to free styling. Im so in love with hydrophobic chalk - it’s just SO fun and interesting. Crushing the same old chalk gets mundane so having something new in terms of texture, feel, the way it reacts with water - is just so wonderful and spices up this journey for sure.
Now to my favorite part of Monday : what did I learn at Mass yesterday? ☺️
First of all, just a quick reminder that Wednesday is ASH WEDNESDAY meaning the Lenten season begins for us Catholics. Lent is a 40 day period before Easter (the Resurrection of Christ). So during this 40 days we take a step back to prepare for this all important moment of our salvation. And while doing this we try to encourage three tenants of worship: FASTING (and abstinence), PRAYER and ALMSGIVING. I hope you can journey along with me during this Lenten season as I endeavor to get closer to Christ during this period. I’ll be cutting back on some activities and foods (yet to firm up which), attending fellowship and prayer meetings more during the week, and lending more of a hand to the poor, sick and needy around me and globally. We Catholics take this period very seriously - it reminds me of Ramadan for our Muslim brethren. I admire them so much for how serious this Ramadan period is for them and I can only pray to be as devoted during this Lenten season. 💕
Quick takeaway from Mass this Sunday. I loved this one especially because Jesus basically showed us to put our money where our mouths are. I mean, He showed us the true sacrifice of being a Christian.
He said at Matthew 5:38-48 RSV-CE
38 "You have heard that it was said, ' An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.'
39 But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. But if any one strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also;
40 and if any one would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well;
41 and if any one forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.
42 Give to him who begs from you, and do not refuse him who would borrow from you.
43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
47 And if you salute only your brethren, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?
48 You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
His TALK is not cheap. This is the very One that asked His Father to forgive those who were in the process of crucifying Him. Goodness me. So being a Christian basically means having no ego, taking no revenge and just realizing that we are here to love everyone even those who have no love for us? Gosh. A lot of work still to do then. As always, I’m still a work in progress….💕💕💕
Enjoy
