This is the best Tai Chi video I've ever seen and better than lots of CDs.

I am glad that some like it! The way we used at Davis: we used it for group practice when our instructor is not in town. we project it to a big screen and follows. try to avoid watching her all the time if you can; be focused and enjoy Taichi!

Thank you for this valuable instructional video. I agree that there is benefit in practicing while listening without watching as well as the opposite, watching with the sound turned off. My goal is to internalize the form to know it deeply and express it beautifully.

although this post is 6 years old, it is still one of the best beginner vids ever... and i have watched dozens! beginners may not realize how important it is to time each individual form consistently within the set of 24 forms. the narration provided here helps immensely. when first learning, i would sometimes finish all 24 forms in less than 5 minutes... and at times more than 6 minutes! the music in this vid is the accepted standard for timing the 24 forms from beginning to end. and the narration insures we will complete all forms exactly when the music stops. it took many months for me (on my own) to get the timing down consistently. this vid would have saved much time and frustration when i was learning... u are lucky to have found it :) kudo's to H Wu for sharing.

my teacher said Tai chi is 武術 we are attacking 10 opponent she said . I couldn't understand her meaning. but when I replay this 24 video ×2 speed , I am astonished and realize this is 武術 real fighting . very fast and strong fighting movement. dangerous fighting style movement. this is 武術

Like it. As my Sifu says, you can improve the rudimentary from a video, but you will not do it correctly without face-to-face instruction.

Remember sinking is everything (jing) , the lower body is the power, the upper is is the Extension-of the legs, all things move as one to develop whole body power, keep body upright, everything is relaxed to strengthen the inner body, the lower pushes the upper. Get a teach then leave them, they only no parts To master Tai Chi you need to think “why” this and not that . To progress is to be your own teacher.

This narration would be even better if instead of just referring to "corner" you used a clock metaphor, i.e. 10:30, 1:30 4:30, 7:30 for the corners, and 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, 9:00. That is what my instructor does and it is helpful for klutzes like me. :-)

I disagree. I've tried to use the clock metaphor and absolutely hated it. It's confusing and adds another layer of doubt. I prefer ": corner" much better.

Master Qiu Hui Fang has some of the best demonstrations of the 24 form online. I use them as reference for my own practice. I understand this series were made for the Chinese TV almost 20 years ago. Here a link to her video in "slow motion" with better resolution. kzitem.info/news/bejne/t5lmy56BnHOnZaA
