I'm 76 and love the old fashion Christmas, old ornaments from my Mom, Red, Green & White colors. don't LIKE white lights,m it reminds me of going to the mall and there are white lights everywhere.. so Christmas with no color. Christmas is cheerful and bright different colors. My house is done in green lights, red lights & blue lights, and multi-colored trees, From all the houses I see they look blah and lifeless, but of course it is the taste of the individual, for me lots of color trees, MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY, HEALTHY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.

I like the Christmas colors and decorations of the 50’s the most. The pink, teal and red are so beautiful. But truly I like every Christmas theme except the formal trees done usually in gold. But even those are better than none.

Hi Donna, No, do not use power tools. Actually had a conversation with another Crafter, and we think crafts should be done with the hands. If it gets to using expensive power tools, well it becomes furniture making. Way off the mark. Crafts are cute and delicate. You do everything the natural old fashioned way.....I love it. 🐓🐄🎀🎨🎄🎆🚜

First time I've watched you. Really enjoyed it. I liked how you use inexpensive items; my crafting is done on a budget! I collected the tiny "pine cones" off alder bushes this year,= and drybrushed them with white paint for a snowy look. I make dollhouse minis as well as items to sell and for my church bazaar; they were cute on tiny wreathes and ornaments. I think the galvanized and green houses were my favorite but I loved so many of them. Enjoyed your foraging additions, too!

We don't have paper birch trees in the Southeast, but I've found a substitute that works for some projects- older crepe myrtle trunks naturally peal. These have to be treated to reduce cracking when cut; I usually use olive oil because that is what I most often have available, but furniture oil is great and any cooking oil can work. The PROBLEM is that it takes TIME. The oil needs to soak in over night to make the bark flexible enough to work with, and then it might need another while for the oiliness to either be absorbed completely or dry out a bit. Crepe myrtle bark also varies from tan to reddish, so if you want a "birch look" you'll need to improvise with chalk paint in 'birch' and charcoal.
