Hyper-Sub Platform Technologies’ Fast Boat Submarine (FBS) is a family of scalable and modular, dual modality, dual use crewed or uncrewed craft. Combining the speed and agility of a long range, Fast Patrol Boat with ultra-shallow draft on the surface and the extended duration of a diesel-electric mini-submarine while submerged with the ability to carry out at least twenty identified mission sets including C4ISR, anti-surface and sub-surface warfare, swimmer delivery and UUV/UAV mothership.
Hyper-Sub Platform Technologies Inc. (HSP) is an innovation company that has designed, built and tested the first heavy lift, Fast Boat Submarine (FBS), a multipurpose, modular vessel designed for Independent, forward deployed operations.
HSP was founded as a C-Corp in Lake City, Florida, USA in 2016 by marine engineering entrepreneur and subsea visionary, Reynolds R Marion. This obsession, first sparked in his bedroom as a 12-year-old boy, was to invent a highly capable and powerful, long range, shallow draft speed boat that could quickly and seamlessly convert to a fully functioning, long duration, pressure tolerant dry-cabin, diesel-electric mini-submarine. Additionally, being capable of carrying multiple passengers in comfort and/or a large payload of mission equipment, needed for a multitude of tasks, while ranging hundreds of miles on and below the surface of the ocean. Or indeed, lying in wait on the seabed for extended periods of time measured in days, before being called to action once required.
The design and development execution of this dual use, dual modality concept has resulted in the revolutionary and game changing, Fast Boat Submarine (FBS), a multi-purpose, long range, surface & subsea utility vessel, fully engineered and provisioned for a range of crewed or uncrewed, littoral, green or brown water sea to shore connector operations, including lock-in / lock-out module option.
Not only can it successfully navigate in extremely shallow waters, with its 2’7” (0.8m.) draft option but it can also operate fully submerged and undetected in less than 12ft (3.6m.); and unlike its competitors, FBS does not require that any crew and passengers wear breathing apparatus for flooded cabin operations during the dive phase, hence the fully dry, 1 atm. pressure barrier cabin which unlike any competitors offerings, allows for extended submergence capability in dry comfort.
All FBS models are based on a series or ‘family’ of scalable and modular Commercial off the shelf (COTS) vessels, leveraging a common, platform ‘Truck’ design; much like the vast array of land based armored vehicles optimized for multiple purposes, built around a common chassis (Think - US Army Stryker, current Marine Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV) or Land Rover Defender etc.). For FBS, this will also include an advanced, un-crewed, autonomous variant.
Additionally, FBS is designed, constructed and tested in accordance with full International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) procedures and certification to ensure it will meet the most demanding procurement terms and conditions.
FBS currently stands at TRL6 with first overseas allied government clients expected in 2024. HSP is also seeking a strategic investor or alliance partner in preparation for Round A & B Capital raise.
