My children loved to watch MacGyver. My 3-year-old daughter loved the time he took the phone apart. So, I walk into the living room to gather everyone for dinner and found her taking the phone apart, She told me she was doing it MacGyver style. The phone never worked again. I also was a big fan. When Stargate SG-1 came out I was in heavy. I had, and still do, have the biggest crush. I was so sad when the show stopped. But then Stargate Atlantis came out. Special guest appearances by Mr. Anderson, Ms. Tapping, Mr. Judge and Mr. Shanks were a joy.

It hurts to think how little appreciated action actors are. According to wiki Anderson “suffered a compressed disc in his back when he fell into a hole while filming an episode midway through the first season of [MacGyver].” His health today, it seems, is a direct result of his efforts to entertain people who now either make fun of or pity him. Sad world.

He asked who was in it and when he saw it was Richard Dean Anderson he rarely ever missed an episode. "This might be better than Star Trek". No show has ever had such a profound impact on my life like Stargate. Some of my earliest memories is watching SG-1 with my family and talking for hours about the other races and worlds. So the promotion to General wasn't a bad one and the new cast members at the time was a nice change of pace. After Season 7 the show did peak, still very good episodes in 8/9/10 but it did run it's course and still this is my favorite show and there wont be anything like it for a long time. The promotion on the show was his idea. He wanted to retire to spend more time watching his daughter grow up. So promoting him in the show was a way to see less and less of his character so he could reach his end goal, retirement.

He has an illness that causes him to be overweight so back off! He has one of those faces where he still looks great fit, old or overweight.

He has an eternal sweetness, graciousness, intelligence and dignity . . . Ir was interesting and nice to see him in this interview . . . just to see how he is doing over the years. I think he would be someone who would be very kind and a very good and loyal friend.

I met RDA at a Stargate convention in the Sydney University. I was really surprised at how humble he was. Loved the experience and I thanked him for giving us MacGyver and Colonel O'Neill

He's so humble about it, even blushes when they get into his humour and Stargate. Glad things went so well for him.

I love RDA. As a little kid, I grow up watching Mc Gyver. I carry a Swiss Army Knife since a kid, and I've studied chemisty and electronics and all kind of bushcraft because of this. When I discovered he was on Stargate SG-1 this got me hooked immediatly. McGyver Forever.

He's a great actor. Loved him in general hospital, macgyver, and Stargate SG-1. Saw him once for a short while in Buhl, Minnesota at a street dance, when I was 16

Met him a years ago at a paid event at a Con. An an absolute sweetheart of gentleman who went out of his way to give a young disabled lass his undivided attention when he realised that some of the very selfish fans were continuously crowding around him, and not giving fair access to anyone else. It was so nice of him, and made her night. It was particularly awesome as she had been quite rudely snubbed earlier by Jason Momoa who was more interested in talking to a group of pretty young things.

I feel like if RDA were to give me some of his time to listen to his stories, I could sit there all day and soak it in. Such a seemingly normal guy, yet extraordinary actor. Loved SG1. Not only the best Stargate storyline, but some of the best SyFy TV ever.

As a kid of 7 to 10 in the 80's it run in Belgium. This show changed my life in the way i look at problems. Mac always lookt to the solution more than to the problem. i' d liked him a lot in sg1 amazing aproach to sci fy and i'm a big star trek en star wars fan so i"m not blown away fast. But know i'm amazed of his verry clever insides to life. As a kid you don't always see that.

My one favorite moment for Jack O'Neill is in the pilot, when he reports as active duty, he does a perfect quarter turn in full brass and salutes Gen Hammond. Never can forget that moment.
