Isabelle Weall am easy way to put your hair into a pony tail is to actually use a vacuum. Ik it sounds really weird but, it actually works. All you do is put a hair tie on a circular vacuum nozzle and then make it suck your hair up and then push the hair tie off. Look it up for more details.😊

Legman688 it’s why i tend to just have short hair.. i’m not an amputee but thanks to my autism i have the worst motoric skills ever.. (mostly the bigger than the smaller.. like writing and such is fine but i for example can’t bike with one hand wich is well horrible seeing as i’m dutch 😂 so i can’t really tell anyone like hey i’m about to go right because if i hold my arm out for longer than a second i’ll just fall..) so when i have long hair and try to put in a ponytail or something and it just looks too messy.. like others always have a smooth ponytail.. for me i always end up with imperfections or me just putting it in crooked ending up with a ponytail that is just too much to the left or right.. and being quite the perfectionist when it comes to my hair i would usually just wear it down wich in turn makes it so the back gets tangled like all hell... so after a short while of having long hair i just end up going yep i’m done with long hair then just go back to a pixie cut because it makes my life so much easier well apart from the front having a tendency to stand up when i wake up 😅 wich also annoys me but that usually gets better after using some water

With the laptops at school it might not be about being sensitive, but it might have a setting where you set it to recognise fingers, I bit like some iOS apps where you can change the settings to either just recognise fingers or any touch. I can walk a bit but I definitely can't run! I understand that you prefer walking over a wheelchair and it's great you have that choice, if I want to get around I have to use a wheelchair, so to me a wheelchair represents freedom not restriction. I do have issues with my mood and self esteem and what not, but I don't think it's to do with disability, I think pain does have an impact on it though. Also, my underlying medical condition seems to have an association with depression, but no one knows whether it's directly cause or related to the other stuff.

My wife and I both have disabilities and met at a DPO when volunteering. I’m now the service lead for the Information and Advice Service. I spend my working life asking people how they cook, eat, dress, bathe, go to the toilet, mix with people, communicate, manage money, read, find their way around and walk for their P.I.P. Sometimes I have to ask awkward questions as we get coping mechanisms that you need to get across to the assessor. This is the first video I’ve seen of yours, I love your attitude and don’t ever let anyone tell you that you’re not a normal 15 year old. You reminded me so much of my daughters when they were your age that I now have a massive smile at the end of a very bad day! If you don’t mind an old man tagging along I’ve subscribed.

Excellent video. I get that it is very important to you that you can feed yourself, dress yourself and walk. But for those of us that can't (e.g. I'm 41 and can't dress myself) it's not necessarily our vibe either, nor a bit weird, it's just a necessity. Though admittedly I would feel weird having my mum assist me to get dressed. A minor suggestion and not meant as a strident criticism: perhaps be mindful that some people can't do these things and that it's not weird for them to need and have assistance for needs you would find distasteful to need help for. So to speak. Cheers

I don't know if this would work but it'just an idea if you want to try it out. So if you lay on your back on a bed or something and lay your hair above your head(I'm really struggling to explain this but there is a video as well, I'll try and find it for you if you want). So that way you will have to mainly gather the hair on the sides of your head doing that with your elboes. Then there are elastics that are not like a circle but have hooks on each end. So you hook one end in your ponytail and then wrap around the other end as tight as you want. I know it will probably be harder than I explain it and maybe not as neat but I still hope it helps. Sorry if my english is bad by the way, I'm bulgarian. Anyway, love you and your videos and I really hope you'll read this ❤

Hi Isabelle you asked for an alternative way of makeing your pony tail. I saw a man with long hair use a vacume cleaner tube. Before you turn the vacume on take your scrunchy, a rubber band, or some kind of hair tie and place it around the end of the vacume cleaner tube then you turn on the vacume, very carefully position the vacume tube at the back of your head and suck up all your hair move the tube around to make sure you have all your hair sucked up then center it where you want your pony tail and slip the hair tie or scrunchy on to your pony tail base. I imagine it will take a bit of practice and you may have to have someone craft you a devise to hold the tube on a door or something and you need to make sure the tube is clean, not sharp, and long enough to hold your hair without your hair getting into the vacume bag and be sure not to get to close to your head with the tube so it doesn't suck to your head. Always be very very carefull with a vacume around your head make sure to stay well away from your ears and eyes. I am an old man that lost a foot in 2017 and I constantly brainstorm ways that can make my life easier so when I heard you say you had trouble makeing your ponytail I thought I could help. Just so you know I think you are the bravest and strongest pearson I have ever seen, you should be very proud of yourself. You may ask how I lost my foot well you see their was this ninja guy being mean to this little old lady and I went to help and a big fight broke out but I never had a chance he whiped out his sword and whak off with his foot. lol that is the first time I ever used lol I am typing this on my smart tv and it doesn't have emoticons.

This will sound weird, Charlotte, though it is not meant to. I admire you as I was on crutches temporarily about 30 yrs ago when I broke my leg. I never could get used to them. I did so so when I was on flat ground, but, if I had to do stairs forget it, I either went up or down on my butt or I didn’t go. I was terrified and I only had to be on them for a few days as I was put directly in a walking cast. I have a condition that does not affect my mobility, but, can affect my ability to do things such as hold a utensil, a pen or even a phone etc. So I can and do appreciate how some how things are done might have to be adapted in order to be accomplished independently. People say necessity is the mother of invention, but I think her sister is tenacity! You and Izzy have that in spades. Hugs to both, unless they get too painful.

Humans are curious. That’s just how they are. I don’t get offended when people ask something, what’s the point in being annoyed with people for being curious. Your walking isn’t the same as an able bodied person, so that’s why people say things. You can’t live your whole life mad at people.

Kind of a crazy idea but I’ve seen this in a video before... adjust a vacuum attachment where it can be secure and not move around much, put a pony tail holder on the end of a vacuum attachment (the round end with a suction), turn the vacuum on and have the vacuum suction up your hair and push the pony tail holder off the attachment and pull your head away from the suction and wah-lah pony tail

I guess perhaps the main challenge of tying up a ponytail on your hair is how to reach the top of your head. If you won't mind, maybe a custom made extension tool that you can attach to your arms can help. I know you may dislike things like prosthetics. But you can think of it as tool. Like if I want to swipe something from the ceiling of my room, which I cannot reach with my hands, I get a broom to do it.

Hats off lady, a lot of “able bodied” people could take a few lessons in dignity and independence from you. I love your evident exasperation at being asked stupid, invasive questions, and your dignity in answering them. I hope the idiots ease up on you and allow you to live your life to the full as you clearly already do. And fingers crossed for that Apple sponsorship 😁😉😘 xxx

I saw a video a while ago of a dad who did a quick ponytail on his daughter and I thought maybe it could work for you! He put the tube extension thing on a vacuum cleaner and put a ponytail holder on the end then he sucked up the girls hair into the tube and slid the ponytail holder on her hair. Idk if this will work or if you’ve tried it, but ya 👍🏼

I'm late seeing this, but an idea for putting your hair up into a pony tail would be putting a hair elastic around the nozzle of a vacuum cleaner. Have it suck all your hair in and then roll the elastic off the nozzle onto your head. I'm sure you could buy a cheap vacuum and fix the nozzle to your wall so its at a convenient height like a show head. Not sure if this would work but just an idea! xx

We don't ask anyone without a disability how they go to the toilet because we know, the moment that same way won't work for someone we get curious. It's something we do every day multiple times, so a pretty big part of our life. That doesn't make it okay to ask strangers though, i understand.

i saw a video once of a girl with amputated arms and she did a ponytail with a vacuum... hairband over the round vacuum thingy, turn vacuum on, hair goes in and all you need to do is slide the hairband over your hair. its not going to be the most perfect ponytail but it might help.

Jess Grace, your missing arm is only part of what makes you - just like my tremors are only a part of what makes me - me. Some of the other things that form a part of you are your hobbies if you have any, how you treat people, your smile, your interests, your family and friends, any pets you might have and what is inside your heart. I volunteer at our local rehabilitation centre attached to one of the campuses of our local hospital. In our centre we have new amputees, new spinal injured patients, stroke victims and patients with acquired brain injuries among others. People who know you won’t see your lack of arm. They will see Jess with the pretty smile, who loves to... Since I don’t know you personally, at this point only you can fill in the blank. In our rehab centre, we have volunteers who are matched with the new patients in a similar situation, if the new patients wish to be. The volunteer visits with them giving them info on various programs and how to access them, any aid in their new limbs, answering any questions, letting them know they are not alone. Generally just getting to know each other. For instance, you as a volunteer would be matched with a person who recently lost his or her arm probably in a similar place on the arm. My mum was a below knee amp and met with two volunteers that she actually became friends with. They helped with things like what funding was available for her artificial leg and places she could get one.

Really cool how you just keep practicing to get to do the things you want by yourself. The hair tie thing seems like it would be really hard. I had a thought, you might be able to do it if you get a scarf or string or something in a big loop, fold the loop around your neck and put one end through the loop of the other end and move it up to you hairline holding onto one end and then kinda tighten the loop by pulling the one end that has gone through the loop... if that makes sense. If the fabric has enough friction it might stay in place. Obviously it is gonna leave some material hanging, but if it is pretty it could look cute. :) It might not work at all, but I hope you find a way!

I’m not sure if it’s work but you could try a Pony-o. It’s secured by pushing in each side. Perhaps with an added tool to thread the hair in you’d be able to tie it up alone.

Something I'd really like to know (because I want to include it in an educational episode of my puppet series): Do you remember what it feels like to have hands and feet? If the answer is no, how long did it take the memory to fade?

This is sort of late, but to put ur hair in a pony tale you could probable clip all of your hair up then smooth it with a brush, then put another clip in to make it tighter then take out the first clip then you could re-smooth it out then tie an elastic around it. Finally, remove the clip... sorry if this was confusing!!
