Excellent video, very comprehensive! I’ve actually always been a little dubious about locos with sound, because I remember hearing some years ago and they were just… bad. But this seems a lot more promising! You’ve made me rethink my position entirely 🤣

Hello Hadrian Junction 😊 good to see you again, yeah overall I think the quality of HM7000 is rather impressive, especially the clarity! Maybe give one a go and see how you feel about it? Cheers, Hylt

Hi excellent video love 257 sqdn I have Sir Archibald sinclair in the same livery as yours also looks a great layout having seen you fit the hm 7000 in your loco I am going to do the same with my loco and most of my fleet as you say £60 great value for sound and Hornby are continually updating sound profiles so should be a great system keep looking eventually there will be sound file for West Country/Battle Of Britain class great system

Hi Andrew, thanks for watching and I appreciate the comments. The malachite green is striking! I really like it! 😊 indeed I’m thoroughly impressed with HM7000 overall. It’s a fantastic sound! Thank you for popping in

Southern isn't always my cup of tea but the BLPs are fascinating... As for HM7000 I am considering one myself but the lack of Great Western sounds really puts me off😥😂 Great job man!

That’s true! There’s a serious lack of GWR sounds on the list 😟 I wonder why given they’re the most common locos in preservation!

Aha: you've succumbed to Rule 1! Good for you. If you like a loco, then buy it. Bullied Pacifics have - since Triang days - been widely recognised as some of Hornby's best locos. You have bought yourself a stunning-looking & well performing loco. The livery just pops. Your easy to follow HM7000 tutorial is most welcome. It really is a game changer, simple and makes DCC easily accessible to anyone who is comfortable using a smartphone. It'll not interest those who have incested heavily in more traditional systems, but for people new to the hobby, or looking to switch, it is revolutionary.

Hahaha hello Stephen, yes indeed, hardly needed any convincing it seems too 🤣 I am very happy with it! I had no idea they had such a reputation? It seems very solid overall so I can agree with that. Thank you, I sometimes wonder if I’m making any kind of sense when explaining something so I’m glad the message is coming across. As always, good to hear from you.

I am a sucker for a good Bulleid Pacific. THis definitely is that. I also am a big fan of HM7000. I've got it in two engines right now (The Dublo model of Scotsman in current condition and an Accurascale Deltic), and both the profiles for those sound phenominal. Definitlely build that Typhoon at some point. I'd love to see it!

I’m 100% sure the coaches as Ex southern regional so no worries 😂😂😂 Glad to see my fears have been put to rest as this sounds much better than the TTS decoders for merchant navy

Oliver Bullied learnt his craft on the GNR/LNER. Two GWR 16xx Panniers ended their days in the Highlands so neither Southern nor GWR would be wholly inappropriate for your layout. The beauty of modelling a fantasy preserved railway is you can have what you like on it.

How you doing mate. I’m not a steam engine man, but I am slowly warming to them, especially unusual ones like your spam tin. Quick tip from my model kit days…paint that coal with a thin layer of Galeria mat varnish. Thank me later.

LIVERIES !!! They've been churning out West Country/Battle of Britain models since 1998. So it's just a locomotive name change. Which modern tooling allows for. That particular livery dates the loco to 1948-50 period, and only a handful actually got that livery. In 1951 the full BR (early logo) Brunswick green livery was introduced for these Class 7P/5F locos.

Indeed, you are quite correct, and I see Hornby are now re-releasing the Starlight Express? Certainly quite a garish livery, one I wont be picking up by any means :P Thanks for watching again and the great history. Hylt
