Here's my time saving tip, I draw numbers on my batteries and cards, so I can tell them apart. For example if Battery #2 is in the Camera and getting low I go directly to battery #3 without guessing which one is charged.

Some of my favorite adventure videos are the ones where you can tell they don’t care about the camera angles and the different shots. The best ones are the ones where you can tell the subject is just in the moment and being real with what is happening. Some of my favorites have been filmed completely on a GoPro with small attentions to camera shots

Jeven, you are AWESOME and an inspiration. I recently started by youtube channel with my first video of a recent trip in my JL crawling and having fun with new and old friends at a park in TN called AOP (Adventure offroad park). I still have a long way to go, but having someone like you to inspire and teach is such a blessing. I would love to attend one of your clinics. Keep the content coming brother. God Bless You Brother.

Tip #23 is $$$$! Thanks again!!! Wow - then #24 #truth. There are times when I just leave the cameras in the bag so I can just do what I’m doing, lol. Sometimes you have to decide am I filming or am I ______? Lol good stuff my man!

Jeven, I have a question. When creating an adventure video I am thinking that the adventure is the subject. How do you go about enjoying and living the adventure and not allow the videography process to consume all of your time and energy? How do you prevent annoying a partner with setting up shots and reshooting scenes?

Hi! I am a solo-fishing-filming enthusiast that love to create stories outdoors. I am having a real hard time finding something that actually competes with my gopro hero 7 in terms of picture quality while moving a lot. I used a canon 70d before and got a Sony ZV E10 now for talking heads and tri-pod shots but the amount of work I need to put in to make that footage as good as the gopro when I am outdoor is just too time consuming? What camera do you guys recommend? I need at least 4k/60 fps, weather seal, good stabilization and cant go over a 3000 dollar mark for body and one lens? Thank you for the help and thanks for this amazing episode 🙌

Thanks Jevon for this very informative footage. I agree with most of it and I think it works great in theory. In practice however I struggle sometimes to keep up with the assumptions I make before leaving home as there are moments you are simply tired, you visit places you have no idea what you’re going to face so it’s hard to prepare in advance, sometimes you just simply don’t feel like filming on a particular day. Also non-native English speaking people face difficulty to easily express yourself in front of the camera “live” so it’s easier to focus on nice shots and build the story based on voiceovers 🤗 The most important is to keep having fun while creating and don’t put yourself in a position “I have to shoot”. That’s my experience so far. Cheers from Poland! 💪🏻👊🏻😊

Lots of great tips! My hikes take SOOO much longer trying to get different shots! I've learned that if in doubt, just SHOOT IT. If I come to a surprise cool view, back up and SHOOT IT!! I do everything on my iPhone, and I'm always having to try to clear it as much as possible before backpacking trips. I've run out of space more than once! 🤦♀

You are a wealth of information thank you. I watch alot of outdoor videos, the things that stop me from watching is the wind noise in people's videos. I just can't listen to it, and when people film themselves I side and they sound like they are in a tin can. I would love to try this microphone.

Loved this, Thanks Jeven! I've started creating mountain bike videos and have to admit I'm kind of guilty of just filming myself ride and putting it to music... except for my latest video where I've tired to incorporate a story. I shot the journey to the trail, the ride up and the ride down, it was a lot more work but was totally worth it and definitely made a big difference.
