A little less AC/DC and more of the engine would have been better, nice vid all the same.

So do I, and i wish I had more clean audio from that dyno session, but as explained in other replies, sadly the dyno pump contactors loud clack-clacking spoiled most of the sound, hence the music.

To all the viewers, note the large exhaust extractors all feeding into the small x2 2 inch pipes just before the first muffler like it's been strangled, I had that set up under my Pacer, Including a cross over pipe then a small coby (on each pipe, then after the diff a larger copy (on each pipe), sounded like a racing car lol, heaps of power.

Sorry, as explained below, this is a compilation of bits and pieces from hours of dyno testing. Most of the Live audio was pretty crap, with relays clacking from the Dyno pump control and all sorts of other noises over the top of the engine sound, and a lot of it was just us tuning and fiddling at different RPM's. We only recorded about 3 or 4 full power runs and I just chose the one with the best sound.

This goes in a street car fella, Only Dyno Queens worry solely about the peak HP number.. I could easily fit a crazy big cam and make 320-330, but it'd be a pig to drive. Real builders know that its the *area under the torque curve that = Tractable Grunt.

It's a compilation of hours of short clips, starting, stopping, tuning with the dyno power absorber pump control solenoids clacking loudly away in the background (listen to most of come racing other dyno vids and you'll see what I mean - They're rebuilding their dyno cell with the pump solenoids located outside this time). So most of the recorded videos audio sucked and there were only a few bits that had good sound, plus all the stills. which is why I put the music track in. Sorry, did my best.

Didnt know they were still racing Minis when Hemis came to Bathurst. Unless youre thinking of when Minis placed 1st through 9th in 1966? And the "no brakes" Valiants came in 10th and 11th. Pretty sure they were V8 automatics too. Discs came in halfway through the model so werent allowed that year.

EFI a LOT easier to set up than Webers, but can anyone confirm my suspicion that Webers have a better throttle response because of the "pre-emptive" nature of the accelerator pumps? or can they set up EFI to behave like that , these days?

It was an experiment, using the Weber Carbs (with no fuel supply and the airvent blocked) as a temporary Independent-Throttle-Body system that "looked like" carburettors :). It had some problems, so they have now been replaced by Jenvey ITB's, but in this video, it was running as a pure EFI system

Spark plug can b anywhere hemi refers to the chamber since valves are at 8 degree from centre , this motor has the same chamber shape as all new hemi type motors, look at the valve angles on a Honda CRF 450, best practice , and this motor not a slant six, USA was not the only engine making country in the world, Australia made these six,s 215, 245 and 265 then Ford Australia made 302 and 351 Cleveland's yes U read it Rite 302 Cleveland's and GM Holden made our own design 253, 304, 308 and 355 Holden V8s the 304 and 355 multi point sequencial injection with an intake the same design as LS1 except we had it 10 years before LS1 came out !!

Yes HEMI refers to the chamber shape and the 215, 245 and 265 motors have valves cantered the other way , ie north south not east west like a hemi V8 , you need to understand what HEMI means , it is Half Hemisphere, and the 265 has this ! Just the same as the new LT Chevy motors , north south 6 degree valve angles ( same as Oldsmobile has but not canted , new CRF 450 Honda Motorcross bikes have 6 deg HEMI chambers , just like LT Chevy motors )

@@JosephCowen-ru7upwell technically hemi means half a sphere, which no cylinder head uses, not even early chrysler hemis although they came close. Hemi sixes are really a polysphere head - or poly (part sphere). Marketing does the rest when Chrysler named it Hemi- just as they did the Mitsubishi Astron 2.6 four in various Chryslers in the U.S.
