Hope you enjoyed this video, guys! My question for you is, which of these car brands sounds the weirdest in the way I pronounce it?

Hi Pete, I'm very grateful for your teachings of Aussie culture, I'm a big fan of formula 1, especially Ayrton Senna, we're sad because Hamilton lost to Verstappen, actually to Redbull, that's life, Happy 2022, Greetings from Brazil

better not saying “Nah~or “No” because these car brands are in different languages. For example, when I heard ‘Nissen’ I felt a bit weird. In Japanese it is Ni-ssan for sure, not to mention the different pronunciation between American and British English for “Jaguar” ( may see this in a dictionary)

I asked a local bloke many years ago when I was traveling in Pohang. Hyundai is pronounced HunDai exactly. I know in Australia we call it hYundai.

Yeah, it's funny how these things change based on where you live and how people interpret the spelling.

Yes, makes not sense to me that Americans say Jagwire...it is like a conjuction, ran together, Jagwar.

This test has no credibility in the fact that they can’t even spell car brands correctly. Infiniti does not have a Y at the end. Also, the pronunciation sound like its a computer generated voice which is not always accurate to begin with.

I had a peugeot car for a while and I hated it because every time I ring to book a servo or I tell someone what car I drive they don’t get it 😂 😂 I was hoping it would be in the video.

"Aussie driving skills" is a contradictory statement. No Australian has any driving skills. Just spend 5 minutes on Perth's roads and you'll see what I mean :P For Nissan, I think their pronunciation might be correct since it is a Japanese brand.

Brazil pretty much the same as USA except for Volkswagen which we say incorrectly "Volksváguen" or simply "Volks", Subaru is pronounced "Subáru" and "Porschá" is so creep!

Hey Pete. I’m not sure if the reaction videos are working for you but I much preferred the earlier ones where you did your own thing and kept it all nice and positive. Just a bit of feedback from me and my missus 😊. Have a great day and best wishes for 2022!

Hey Pete! I've been watching your videos for quite sometimes now and I've been listening to your podcasts. I love the contents🤗. They are really helpful, not just for learning aussie accent but the English language as a whole. But here's a little request that I'd like to make. It'd be wonderful if you would make a video on science related vocab. As a science student who tries to work on their pronunciation and accent while reading science textbooks I often get lost and struggle😅 to pronounce certain words found in the text with a correct and proper accent. I really hope this comment gets noticed😅. Have a great day! 🤗

I remember hearing the name Hyundai on Aussie radio a couple of years ago and I was amazed by the pronunciation, though their 'u' sounded slightly different.
