@@JakeKaminskiArchery Hi. After 10 months i finally got my very own 27" ATF-DX Riser and i absolutely love it so far. for some reason i had in mind that there are dampers (dampeners?) that go in the hole above the Tiller Bolt where it says "QC" and what i assume to be the serial number. Might also have been extra weights that can go there but i can't find them anywhere. Am i hallucinating or what am i missing?

Just started in traditional archery. I'm shooting a W&W black wolf, love it. I wasn't prepared for the complexity or the expense with arrow selection. Wish there were more traditional fletched arrows available over the counter. Thank you for your content.

Always a pleasure watching your bow review videos. You give such great feedback about the make and quality of the riser. I shoot a W&W ATF-X and it’s awesome to see the differences between the two models. Looks like it shoots so beautifully as well. Thanks for the video!

Hi Jake, Great video, great grip, and setup. Our shop uses First String for all our all our Barebow setups. They put clear Halo on the serving if you request it. I have a Flo Blue string, and you can really see string blur with the clear Flo Blue serving. Your short noted this was rig was made in Korea on the limb and riser boxes. thx for sharing, great video! BTW, If anyone are trying Axcel sight 2023 on ur AFTDX riser, be really careful when u install it, the vertical tab of the sight has many holes, but it's not all matching with the wind tunnel of the riser, u better check it before tight a screw, otherwise very likely u will ruin the paint of the riser like I did

Even with the long limbs, I find that for a 27" setup (72" bow) my bow is happier at a brace height that is 1-1.5cm more than my 25" (70" bow). In terms of additional weight, Joel Turner did mention in one of his podcasts that it depends on the type of archer and what is he/she using the weight for. If you're a calm and strong enough shooter, you'd want it so heavy that the pin or arrow point dances so slow that when you release, the arrow will hit where it was last floating at. This is in contrast to a weight that just keeps the bow balance enough to not hit your head on recoil but has the arrow point or pin moving within the yellow and on release, the subconscious will have it hit in the middle provided that your aim was in the yellow to begin with.

I'd like to get back to this as recently I've gotten some Win&Win Inno Ex Prime limbs and surprisingly for Win&Win, their recommended brace height for 72" setups are really close to the 70" ones and I found this to be true.

Gotta be honest as I'm just learning archery alot of this is going over my head. Never had a bow like these. My baby is my samick sage, but its a bow I'm learning form with. As a 52 year old i would love to do competition. But got alot of training to do, then work out how you set up these kind of bows. But it looks really nice.

Great video Jake. Will help alot of people tuning their bow. I try to do this on my channel as well but try to keep it really simple. I also like shooting field, but there are not many shoots here in New Zealand (especially where I live in Nelson for full recurve with stabs and sight). Keep it going buddy.

Hi Jake! First of all, I want to thank you for all the videos and tutorials you share, I am a French archer and I really appreciate their quality. I learnt a lot with you. I have a question regarding the 27" risers: have you tested the behavior of the bow if the limbs are medium or long with such a riser? (Same poundage but only the length of the limbs is different) Thanks for your advices!

Might want to play around with tiller for the noise, I've found for longer setups they don't need as extreme negative tiller. For noise dead neutral to 1x16th was best but I found for my groups and how I held somewhere around 1x8th + 1x16th to 2x8ths worked best. I tried brace height but it didn't do a lot while in spec for the noise.

Jake, whàt is happening at full draw, is that your full draw might as well have a clicker on it because every arrow stops at jut the same point, about two and a half inches in front of the riser! But as you try to expand, you hve a very minimal creep forward! Not as big as a collapse, but thinking about the possibility of relaxing a bit in a couple of ends! Nothing to worry about, just be clicker aware!

Very good as always. Something I miss in the riser reviews is you commenting on the limb pocket geometry, as in how much pound you get out of a test pair on the lowest and the highest setting on the bolts. Especially with W&W since they have a history of different geometries without mentioning it in the marketing info.
@JakeKaminskiArchery
Жыл бұрын
Pretty much as usual on ILF it’s 10% on the adjustment geometry has very little to do with how much range of adjustment you can get, geometry is more on what the limbs will say Vs what they are marked.

@@JakeKaminskiArchery I mean the later. A old Winact riser for example will give me a stacky draw and 42 pounds otf on medium setting while a Inno CXT gives 38 and really smooth anchor zone draw on the mid setting, with the same pair of limbs. Like a Hoyt HP vs Original Earl Hoyt geometry, but without the explanation in the product description... But maybe W&W went to offering only one geometry nowadays. The riser looks kind of straight but it might be the 27 length that tricks the eye.

Hi Jake, thank you for the next great video. What draw weight are you using on this riser? Depending on the length, how does this affect the feel of the draw weight and the arrow speed?
@JakeKaminskiArchery
Жыл бұрын
Not sure on the draw weight. I usually just run whatever is needed to get the arrows to tune. As far as the length, it makes the feel easier on my fingers and it will end up slowing the arrow down compared to a shorter bow.

Hi Jake, wanted to ask if the tiller bolt holes on the back of your riser are centred? As I have noticed on my ATF-DX that they are off-centre and the tiller bolts are actually at a slight angle.
@JakeKaminskiArchery
Жыл бұрын
I never use my tiller bolt holes as a reference. I just looked and my 27" ATF-DX are centered perfectly with a chamfer on the riser where the threads exit the back of the riser. On my 25" ATF-DX the thread hole in the back of the riser was not chamfered the same way and it appears off center due to the nature of how tapped holes appear as they exit a piece of material relative to the center of the bore. I bet your riser is the same, not off centered or crooked but the threaded area is exiting the bow back there throwing off your perspective.

Hi Jake, thanks for the reply. My bottom bolt is unfortunately about 2mm off, have compared it to other risers. The bow still shoots good when set-up, it's just a bit disconcerting and wanted to check with someone else who has the risers. As the limb alignment changes slightly as I changed the poundage 😅

I've spent a lot of time hovering over the add to cart button on the DX... Struggling between 25 or 27 though. I also have a deep crawl, wondering if the 27" would give me problems at a 72" bow when I start to shoot field and 3D? Any issues pointing up or down when shooting different elevations? I would imagine the reason nobody manufactures the grip with any filler or hood around the throat of the grip is to keep it compatible for the largest array of hand sizes and shapes.. If you have a meaty paw the throat might be uncomfortable if its too closed off at the roof.. Just a guess mind you.. But That would be why I wouldnt do it !!

Unlike other Chinese brands, W&W is reputable without IP theft. Consider writing them to change their manufacturing. I’d take a hard look at the products around your home and archery, so many things are done in China. I am trying to change that personally through offering of high quality equipment made here in the USA with USA made base materials as well. Promoting and reviewing are different things. You won’t see copycat companies who have stolen products from others on this channel (TBOW)
