Thanks for the video. Very informative. Can you tell me where you ordered the replacement board from ? I've gotten no response from Yaesu parts. I'm looking for this same circuit board.

Where did you manage to buy the board? My ft5d has a problem with the black screen display, do you know what it could be? Where can I buy the board? Thanks

Hello everyone. And thank you for your very introductory and both very useful KZitem channels. A note for those who use Yaesu radios, only use Yaesu battery packs: they offer protection from overload of charging, and will keep your equipment safe. Cordially

Come on now, anyone could replace the PC board! What kind of repair was that?

The answer is very simple. We Always do the best for customers. wouldn't you not expect a brand new board if that were your brand new radio?

Not everyone including Ham-Operators can or will open up their radio and trouble shoot it. I like to build, repair, or modify my own equipment.

Danke, fur another great video. Always look fur the obvious. I've tried my best to take a liking to digital Ham radio, but I just cannot stand the sound of digital electronics. I've got a Yaesu 991a and, believe me, I've tried several times to enjoy a QSO on digital radio. The sound is so bad I have trouble even understanding the computer generated sounding voices. I've tried digital and unless they can improve on the sound, I'll never be a digital user. I understand that half of the bandwidth is used for error correction and the audio is crammed into the other half of the bandwidth that it makes the voices sound like they have been computer generated. Cheers from eastern TN

Nice video, thanks Peter. I built myself a nice lab a couple of years back but its been laying dormant ever since as I have nothing to repair. Thousands wasted :(

@@TRXLab I'm really only doing it as a hobby at the moment but it would be nice to learn by attempting a repair. I don't know any other radio people these days. I need to learn where to get schematics too. Until then I have your excellent videos to fall back on :)

Don't give up, you can do it! Service manuals you'll find on the web, simply search. Have you ever considered visiting your local radio club? Anywhere in the world, radio clubs are near. Don't hesitate.

Hi, a question not related to your repair for but for my FT-5DR is regarding bluetooth, does the original software have a problem connecting, does an update fix that ? I can't get any of my headsets to connect.

We have never experienced a connecting issue with BT. Maybe there is a hardware problem.

Ya, as an FT5DR owner I'm wondering if this is a common fault or if it was something that happened due to improper use / care...

Wondering if that Yaesu FT-5D has any reverse polarity protection at the battery terminals or the external DC input.

At 5:58, he said the radio was quite new and didn't want to compromise it. Maybe it was under warranty, so, free except for shipping possibly. That's why he didn't replace the MOSFET.
