I mean, the character is not translucid. So... Just adding a faint light on the ground close to its feet would make it accurate and good looking

perhaps the sun hitting the character is causing a glow from behind...in which case the shadow is absolutely necessary....

As a professional graphics designer. I love how you've done an unedited tutorial. Leaving backtracks like the clouds and learning as you go. Very true to what it's like to work in this branch. You can't make perfect art, if you don't try to make perfect art - the real goal is thr final product, don't matter how you got there.

For anyone interested: Alt+Click is the equivalent of "Create Clipping Mask" if you right-click on the layer it will then contain all changes to the layer below (ie mask to that).

I saw some great ideas. It's always great seeing others and how they work on their projects. Throughout the whole video I was like "yea, thats nice. yea i can do the depth like that too. yea this is a clever way to build the mood of the map". Ya'll. I recently made the switch to inkScape over illustrator (because frick Adobe). I know it looks ugly, but throw that minimalist dark theme on there and you are all set. It's a great program for making vector art. Really nice use of the polygon lasso in this tut btw Thomas! Ty!

Well I wasn’t expecting to learn much. I use clip studio which is near identical, the thing I didn’t know you could do was use a paper texture. That is awesome.

Tips: I think that for beginners, it would be better if you show the things you do in the photoshop layering by moving your facecam somewhere else or by hiding it during the time you show us what you're doing in it ! Thanks for the great tutorial. I've seen a couple of tutorials that do a similar concept, but what makes this tutorial stand out is that you take the time to explain the reasons behind your artistic choices as well as sharing some great tips(Like squinting your eyes for the shadows and highlights or zoom out to see if you are on the right track). 1:55 You dont need memorize what 4k is. But you can save it, whit the litle save ikon... next to where you can add your document name. After this you always find the setup in the "Saved" menu
