Suge isnt the business man people think he is. Suge was a master manipulator and linked up with important people in the record industry due to him knowing other important people. Deathrow was only popular a few years before he went to prison. And never regained its popularity. The beef between record labels got major media attention and the murder of 2pac took it to another level. Suge knight snaked his way into a click, took notes from eazy e, manipulated eazys roster, built a label that was surrounded around Dr. Dre with backing from record executives that wanted a piece of hiphop. Dr Dre's talent after eazy e made him a superstar made deathrow records. Ruthless records with eazy had 8 years on top and a few years after his death with bone thugs. Deathrow wasnt ran by suge majority of its life due to his incarcerations. People need to read between the lines

Let me first say that Suge Marion Knight is up there with da rest of them for his contributions to Hip Hop. He had one of the most successful Independent, in his own words, record Label and owned all of his Masters, and had some of the best to ever do it in rap on his label. We can't take away what he did musically. I like him as business man & I think because he was a successful, black business man, it's not surprising The-Powers-That-Be came after him at one point. However, as a human being, James Baldwin the Novelist wrote: "people pay for what they do, and still more for what they have allowed themselves to become, and they pay for it very simply, by the lives they lead." I think that quote describes Suge Knight's situation and where he is now very well indeed...

Suge knight does come across a very intelligent man in this interview. You have to be really smart to come from where he came from and to do what he did in the music industry. But I do believe p Diddy Jay z and those guys won, and are still around doing their thing today, simply because Suge Knight was trying to be the hardest in certain situations and not the smartest in certain situations. But I do still have much respect for him for what he has accomplished in the rap game and in business as a whole when he was out doing his thing.

Jenny Lou so everybody in jail is not smart or did they make not smart decisions and you have to be a millionaire to be considered smart?? @JennyL.I

@@Aaron.McNair why do people on the internet do that? Dont turn my comment into something it wasnt. This is solely based on SUGE, when did I say everyone in jail is stupid or we must be millionaires to be smart? He had a lot of potential, which is why be could easily be living out his days as a millionaire. But he wasnt REALLY smart. Running over 2 men on daylight in front of CCTV is REALLY smart is it? As well as everything else? He used intimidation to get his way, is that smart? Can you not differentiate between people making bad choices or psychopaths with a pattern and no remorse to be able to easily attack, intimidate and kill people like he did? Maybe you should learn that someone making a comment based on ONE person does not mean they are talking about EVERY person in that scenario.
