There’s this scenario that happens every so often. The opponent gets the ball to a sharp, short angle. I sprint for the ball and manage to pick it up. And then I just stand there watching the opponent put an easy ball into the wide open court.
Today something made me turn around after the pickup to sprint back to the court. I almost run past the ball but managed to smack a volley back along the way (ง’̀-‘́)ง
Hopefully this instinct is something my body remembers and continues to perform.
In an unrelated observation: These vintagy white socks my brother bought me for my birthday make my calves look kinda chunky 😅
Hi! I’m Ray and I play NTRP 3.5-4.0-ish level tennis in Singapore. Many players are self-rated on an app called Reclub, where we find hitting partners.
I’m (red shirt) self-rated 3.5, I serve and volley and rush the net whenever the opportunity arises. I use a Head Gravity Pro with 6grams added to the handle, strung with RPM blast at 36lbs (ECT reading: 28).
Ben (black shirt) plays an all court game with sharp slices and volleys.
We play a 8-game pro set which I win 8-4.
