“Who wants a Krabby Patty at Three in the Morning?!” Patrick then wakes hysterically as the alarm rings He shuts off the device and sits straight with poise recollecting and reacquiring his conscience thought but can only feel reality lose him instead. He desperately searches his room for a clue or cue to lead him back to a cohesive understanding of what has happened but he only sees the Krabby Patty. He idly stares at the sandwich. Understanding that, in fact, absolutely nothing has changed.

At first, this experience left him feeling like he was losing grip on reality but once he internalized the unchanged state of the sandwich, he realized that his reality is reality. While the patty is O.K. the world is O.K. thus his world is O.K.

@@slayer1156 you know this is stupid, but once I woke up from a nightmare mid-panic attack (don’t ask, I don’t remember), and I was sure the whole world was ending all around me, and then I saw my water bottle sitting on my bedside table and thought almost exactly this. It’s hard to explain but I guess I figured if it hadn’t moved, nothing had changed and everything was probably fine. It’s weird how much comfort an object existing in a spot can bring you.

Patrick probably does have early onset dementia, now that I think about it. It would explain why he always seems distant and out-of-it, as well as how he managed to forget what his parents looked like.

This is literally the most moving piece of modern art I've ever seen. Never before have I felt such melancholic euphoria at the sight of a starfish contemplating his existence and purpose in life, only to forget his woes at the sight of the majestic patty of krabs. Truly a beautiful tale.

I cant hear this music without feeling existential dread so on one hand i know this comment is a joke but on the other hand it’s a fair and upsettingly sad & valid interpretation considering the context of the song ☹️

The fact that SpongeBob is in the ren and stempy universe because of the music. And the Patrick scene is the same thing from that one ren and stempy adult party episode.
