The 3 common mistakes beginner bboys and bgirls make?
Hands, hips and the vertical control - or lack thereof. Specifically...
1. Your hands need to stop exaggerating how far you can reach. This is to keep it simple for training your switching movement without losing balance.
2. Your hips need to include side-to-side (lateral) movement, or you're never going to shift your body weight to the other hand.
3. Your vertical pop needs to cut down - you need to stop thinking of getting high (heh). Focus on the side switch first. Otherwise there's going to be a lot of weight which you can't catch well on one hand yet.
Pro-tip: train from your non-master side to your master side first. This helps you increase the freeze balance of that non-master arm which is most people's weak point.
Happy training!
