Day 2 Jaipur Travel Guide Itinerary:
1. Amer Fort: An absolutely beautiful fort that is located about 10 km away from Jaipur. Make sure to go early in the morning (8 am) before the crowds arrive! Also make sure to get a tour guide for INR 400. They will show you around for about an hour and give you all the information and secrets of the fort!
4. Grab lunch: There is not much to eat around the fort. Just a few local restaurants. If you are not worried about budget, then head to 1135 AD, where you can get an amazing Rajasthani Thali. We went to Jagadamba Paratha - quick, easy and cheap food.. But if you struggle with stomach issues, maybe it is not the best place to eat at 😅 So be careful!
2. Shri Jagat Shiromani ji Temple: Really cool temple on the way to the step well. It is worth a stop if you are walking. It is a Hindu temple covered in carved figures and ornate architectural elements. Make sure to go inside the temple as well, as it is even more magnificent!
3. Panna Meena ka Kund: Historic stepwell & rainwater catchment known for its picturesque symmetrical stairways. Really cool place, but a little underwhelming as pictures make it look ten times bigger. Still really cool place to check out and see, and experience the culture from yesteryear!
5. Anokhi Museum: An old Haveli that was converted into a museum and work shop. We were unlucky as the block printer was not there. But, it cost INR 80 to get in and then you can watch them do traditional block printing of different textiles. You can even take part and buy fabric and do block printing on them yourself!
6. Jal Mahal: Your last stop during the day will be at the Jal Mahal. You can walk up and down the lakeside looking at the palace, and shopping in the small night bazaar that pops up! You can even dress up in traditional clothes and take pics! Or, if you are like us, you will tell your taxi driver to stop for five minutes to take some photos real quick.
If you have time, you can check out the Nargaghad Fort, on your way back to Jaipur. Really nice place to take in the sunset over the entire city! Plus your composite ticket gets you in there. So why not go??
