I’ve had 2 of these devices and both gave the sound of stripping plastic gears as they died. You need to show the transmission assembly. Are they metal or plastic gears? Then we could evaluate their durability more accurately.

This must be new? I have a Bonsaii shredder, a company owned by bonsen, had it for like 8 years and today I turn it on and the motor sounds like it's burning itself out even though it works fine, hopefully if I upgrade to a bonsen office model or stick to Bonsaii It won't have cheap gearing

These types of shredders need to be oiled monthly just pour some oil an a sheet of paper before feeding it through. Mine is a Amazon brand which only use for high security shreeding strip shredder does every day stuff. Fellows makes the oil i use

Just got the 3102 its p-4 but crosscut (longer) not micro cut. No idea how they come up with p-4 lol. Looks similar to your 15 sheet model. 16 sheets max, has cooling fan that runs when on. Can run for 1 hour straight it claims( probablt with the added always running cooling fan when on thing). I did it once (16 sheets) but i won't be doing it alot lol usually you should half the sheet amount lol can handle doesnt mean should handle in my experience. Handles cardboard no issue. So far i like it. I also recommend lubricant sheets every 15 min of intermittent run time or 30 min of straight run time. Or use oil but the sheets are more convenient and dont have to worry about the oil going bad (most are canola based) Edit: the link for large goes to the exact same one i just bought lol. Which is different in the avive ways. Nice to see they've improved the model. I did want to say our big model, can use bags but a little awkward just put them in and dont worry about the bag being in the way of the clips in front that hold the container in. Also my 16 model has a fan that you can hear running any time its on possibly helping it to do more? Lol. It also after done feeding, it stops like normal then now runs for another 1-2 seconds to make sure its all out.

I noticed none of them do CDs or credit cards. Definitely something that needs to be on a shredder. The biggest issue I found with shredders is how much "leftover" bits cling to the shredding device itself inside. After time, without proper cleaning, they will bung up and cause the unit to fail. Any indication of those issues on these? Usually starts by the time you need to empty the bucket. Oh, did any of these have an auto shut-off when the bucket gets filled up? And finally, alllll that wasted nice white paper! Those poor trees... lol (I use one for every credit card piece of mail that still shows up and trashing updated credit cards or old data DVD/BluRay computer backups, so I use mine a Lot!)

So the link he has for large now goes to the model I just bought 3102. Does cards and CDs. Also after it's done shredding, it stops then starts again by itself for 1-2 second to clear anything remaining. Also has 60min run time.
