@zandig666 *I met Frank over the phone and visited him at his hotel room just before a show that I described here in the comments section. Frank was very gracious to me and my friend Mike Sims who got a chance to tour America's Eastern Seaboard circuit playing his guitar at college town clubs and campuses. Frank signed a Jimi autobiography book I had, and when he looked through the book he paused for a few seconds when he saw a picture taken at Jimi's funeral. Also Frank said "Wait by the elevator in the lobby." About 20 minutes Frank later with Jimmy and Paul exited an elevator and he tolded me to join him as we went into the The Electric Ballroom Club, we got to see the show for free.*

Kicking up notch by notch blowing Ted journey away Eddie money was cool. He sat on edge of stage.getting into frank. Loving it. Ted looked a little bugged walked off but. Frank. Won that battle

great video. re: the harmonic tapping technique, yes, Frank was doing it before the VH phenomenon and it can be heard on earlier studio recordings where for many years i believed it to be an octavia effect. in addition to the harmonic tapping Frank does an amazing faux slide guitar using the whammy bar. it has to be seen to be believed as on studio recording it really does sound like he's using a slide. i saw Frank do a show locally a few years back and he has not slipped one bit and performs at the highest level. truly amazing and very underrated indeed.

I have listen to those recordings thousands of times and they never get old ... a true representation of live music from the 70's ... Frank Marino covers Albert King's song "I'll play the blues for you" on A Tribute to Albert King and it is absolutely one of the best ... Frank gets a lot of mileage outta the pentatonic scale with such conviction, articulations and speed ... its easy to see why those who have listened to him cite him as being such an influential guitarist in their lives ... Thank you for the three for all ... love the channel and the videos ... Thanks for sharing ...

I sat home after school for hours trying to memorize Frank's licks and driving my parents up the wall while doing so! Eventually got into a good band playing bass ( got in playing Johnny B Good riffs like on the live album.) Love those bass lines. We got tapped by Steel Breeze to dial in their brand new Yamaha sound system. Damn that was loud for a bunch of teenagers to get that kind of opportunity. I'm not bragging just facts here, I talked to Frank over the phone when they played Alex Cooley's Electric Ballroom in Atlanta, he asked me "Can you tell me about this band opening for us Mother's Finest?" An I said "Yeah bring your A game." The Mother's even today are a hard band to follow here in Atlanta, and they got an opening band encore when they opened for Mahogany Rush that night and during the equipment take down setup the crowd was buzzing from the Mother's set the whole time. It took 2 guys to bring Frank's pedalboard to the stage, finally the lights dim and Mahogany Rush gets introduced and they open up with Purple Haze and from there Frank and his band commenced a blistering set that also included Voodoo Chile and my favorite Mahogany Rush song Talk 'Bout a Feeling closing with a psychedelic strobe light infused Star-Spangled Banner and the crowd goes wild. Yep he bought his A game an I had a front row seat to hear and see it all.*

Wow fantastic choice Dave ! Frank is such an iconic player imo, super underrated to virtually everyone that isn't a guitarist ! The first time i ever heard Frank was Electric Reflections of War and my mind was blown !!! Thanks for this 3 for all !!!

Thanks for the video man. It's a sad time with Frank no longer able to do his thing for us to enjoy, but man we got the memories.

It's amazing how light his strings are on the short 24.75 scale. .008 .009 .012 .015 unwound. .026 and .038.
