Thank you for great content in general, but especially this video. I prepared the Tikka one today, and it came out great. I preferred not to use coconut cream because of the fat content, so I used unsweetened almond milk instead. The result was excellent!

Thanks a lot! Looking forward to the book! I've recently discovered that I can use a tablespoon of sunflower seed paste mixed with some water, or even sunflower seeds finely ground mixed with water, and use that in curry instead of coconut milk. I'm not a great fan of too many coconut milk cans...

Cashew cream (soaked and blended cashews) works great as well to add some creaminess instead of coconut milk :)

Steven, I hope you don't mind me suggesting avoiding amazon. They treat their workers abominably and they never pay taxes. Amazon must be boycotted at all costs.

Spice mixes look tasty. Would love more recipes without coconut milk. I replace it with soya cream or cashew cream. I don't like coconut in savory applications and I don't like clogged arteries from the high cholesterol in coconut milk.

To be honest I was hoping from the title you might use whole spices and herbs, toast them in a pan, and grind them for a super fresh blend - traditional style. Any chance for that in the future?

Super video. I'll certainly be trying out the spice mixes and the recipe...looks delicious. Will be checking out the book too. I'm in the US and the link is for across the pond. Since I'm doing Kindle I don't think it'd be an issue. Many thanks!! As a follow up, Amazon U.K. won't allow me to complete a US Kindle transaction. I looked in Amazon US and it doesn't appear available as preorder...any help?

thanks for the video! I've been way better about reducing food waste. I now eat almost every lemon peel/lime peel. I find if you mince them up and throw them in a bowl of hot oats with frozen berries it adds a nice zip. Haven't eaten the orange peels yet though or banana peels. that's next level

Lads, I love your recipes but is there any substitute for coconut milk, I have high cholesterol, thanks
@C4RTWR1GHT
2 жыл бұрын
There is no cholesterol in coconut milk.
@TigerGreene
2 жыл бұрын
@@C4RTWR1GHT She did not say there was. Due to the high proportion of coconut oil, coconut milk is very high in saturated fat, which has been shown to increase LDL ("bad" cholesterol). Excessive coconut milk consumption can also raise blood levels of cholesterol due to the amount of lauric acid, a saturated fat that contributes to higher blood cholesterol. Those with high cholesterol (myself included) would do well to limit their consumption of foods high in saturated and trans fats.

Joan, I'm looking for something like that myself. I'm wondering if maybe a base of tomato sauce, low sodium vegetable broth, juice of half a lemon might work, in various combination. For a korma or tikka masala, you want something creamy but light. Hm... perhaps vegan yogurt could work. Or combining tofu, broth, and juice of half a lemon in a blender first, then mixing that in the pot? I might try that, both with and without soy yogurt. Or perhaps an oat milk, which tend to be thick and creamy but not so high in fat.

So when you mean chili powder I don't think you mean that mixture of Ingredients that make up a chili powder. I think you mean something that's something that's just chilis.
