The bridge nets a lot of mangrove snapper. Have your license ready they come down there A LOT.

Nice work Matt!! Be careful you might end up wanting to move to Florida. Seems like you would catch on the fisheries fast.

Nice man! I was just there last month. I was mostly at clam pass because that's where we stayed. I got a nice redfish in that big bay. A few snook too. How do u wade that muddy bottom though?
@EngineeringHooksets

Very slowly lol. I swear I about lost my shoes every other step. Ive purchased new wading "shoes" recently tho that are basically 7mm neoprene socks that go over the ankle (w/ velcro straps), and they do really well in mud. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@EngineeringHooksets cool, will definitely look at neoprene wading shoes. I was ok a kayak btw throwing a vudu shrimp when the redfish hit.

@@jj6539 I tried to catch a redfish so hard the whole week we were here and came up empty 🙃

@@EngineeringHooksets yeah, it was a grind for me to get one. I think around the mangroves in the big bay is the best chance. Having a kayak helps because it would be a pain to try to wade it. High tide, or right before or after is best time but you already know that.

Also, it has to be a lure because i tried cut bait at the bottom and I kept getting catfish. Maybe shiners or baitfish on a bobber will work but i had trouble catching baitfish. I think the paddletail swim baits or vudu shrimps is best for that area.

Awesome stuff. Always enjoyed the salt water. Don't get the opportunity to do that much anymore. Sort of miss it.

Awesome Jack, Matt. That first shot in the video, wasn't that the spot you got your first Snook a few years ago?

Sort of. Not my first snook but that was the first snook I posted. I'm actually still holding on to the first snook video lol. By now it's over 2 years old, really need to get around to editing that haha

I think snook would be #1 on my hit list for Florida species. Everyone always seems to enjoy catching them. That jack looked like it was built for power too so I bet they are fun!

Yeah they're pretty cool, I think theyre basically the largemouth bass of the ocean. I really want to get a redfish, I've caught about 6 snook but never a redfish. Jacks are insane fighters, more so than hybrids or smallmouth IMO.

I’ve been in Florida my whole life and the one fish I have yet to land is the tarpon. I’ve hooked about 5 or so, never landed one but I can tell you they’re the most exciting hands down.

Snook are best bang for "buck" . Tarpon you need to be chill, just let em beat themselves cuz you won't. Reds are strong, like F 350 HD strong. Love swfl, every day of fishing I've had has been awesome.

I caught that jack on a 6th sense lipless jerkbait, but the hooks completely bent out on that 1 fish, so idk if id recommend it.

Stop using lures live bait works way better if u want to catch something bigger

Everyone knows live bait works better, but artificial lures are 1000 times more fun to catch a fish on.
